I did the test earlier, FTP of 231 which is about what I expected. Same as you, just went pop quite quickly - pushing one minute, legs nothing left the next. I think it's that ability to keep pushing that I've lost, but then I'm barely riding once a week so I can't complain.

At 231 and 83 kg that puts my estimated power at 2.78 w/kg which is again about where I think I'm at currently.

@alex_cycles I can't make Tuesday now I'm afraid, the appointment I was expecting to come through has been scheduled for Tuesday and I won't be here

It's all good. Trying to make it so people can race some, all or none according to how it all works out. ^_^

There’s a hill-climb bike on eBay that would be perfect for me, if only it were a touch bigger. I’m 6’3” and it’s a size 58, which is the frame size of my beloved Trek, but Cervelo’s sizing chart suggest 58 is suitable for 5’11” to 6’1” and that 6’1” to 6’4” should be on a 61…. It’s been on a while - not for auction but ‘Buy It Now’. Mrs Legs is willing for a new bike to come into the household on a ‘one-in-one-out’ basis!

Very kind of her to offer to sacrifice her bike for you to have a new one

Longer stem and carbon saddle post, will overcome smaller frame. That's what all the Pro's bikes look like, smallest frame possible

‘One-in-one-out’ is subtly different from ‘one-out-one-in’… 🤣

Yes. If the internet is running slowly there could be a significant "lag" between the in and the out

I'm in a ZRS pen'd ride later - I think this may be a Z2 ride for me, no point even trying to hang on

Good look ,you might need it ,at least there's 3 people who can manage zero watts for 20 mins you might beat them 😁

I'm planning to wheel suck them

With the new HUD I can at least concentrate on my average watts - will be trying to keep it between 190-200 which I think is Z3 for me (Z2 is below 175) so that should give me a nice workout. Just have to remember not to try and chase out the pens as I'll go in the red with 60 seconds and blow up completely xx(

Just realised it's a 46km ride - that's 90+ minutes for me  I may be optimistic thinking I can hold 190-200 watts that long.

That was ouchy - just checked on ZP and that's my longest race on Zwift since Dec 2022 :surrender:

Dropped by the pack after 3 mins. There was one rider behind me at that point (I thought there were more but just the one). He caught me on Titan and I sucked his wheel all the way to the foot of the Grade where he and others a little further up the road pulled away.

I was still averaging 200 watts after the first hour and I'm proud of that - the grade beat me up, I really struggle to get up. Didn't want to bail though so kept pushing on. The last 8 or so km from the KoM descent was brutal for me. Could hardly kept the pedals turning.

I may sleep well tonight :B)
