Exciting finale to elite men's European road race. Worthy of a watch 😉

And top three riders are Jumbo Visma riders, who could have a guess 🙄.

Yup. Question is why Shimano didn’t react before, why now. Did they have a pressure from somewhere that they need to do something. I have 2 Shimano Ultegra cranksets but personally i am not gonna replace them because i don’t use them.

Get them replaced (if Ultegra) and send the replacements to me. Thanks! ^_^

Sounds almost like you are think of that plan for a while, waiting for a tight moment

Yes, if around 2 seconds count as a while. Replaced my delaminated 6800 crankset last year, and paid a pretty penny for the new one, as they were out of stock almost anywhere… Bought the 8000, which is prone to the same problem, and I suspect all new 12 speeds too?

12-speed as well. If it's that way then that tell's that somewhere in Shimano's quality control have a weak link or a design development department.

Rolling RGV this teatime.. struggling with over eating at lunchtime meal with friends. Managed to hang onto the front pack, but it was tough going. Got hit by draft dynamics on the serpentine section. Clambered my way to the front accidentally, then was swamped by 40 riders as the draft disappeared. After that I was struggling to muster a finish effort

Awesome effort there Alex :okay:

Thanks. New 2m power all-time high (indoor AND out).

I did like how you took little micro rests

It makes so much difference. It's really not possible to push that hard for that long without a 1s break to just below FTP on the flat bit.
That particular climb lends itself to it. Smash the steep start. Mini rest on the turn, then empty the tank to the finish.
Watching it back I really enjoyed the guy who passed me nearing the summit and then faded and I just kept going and passed him.
I am getting gradually stronger, but it's partly technique as well. I realised later that I should have steered left towards the end as the finish line is angled and that would possibly have cut off 0.000000000000001 nanoseconds as well

You made up a lot of ground on the twisty bits with the steering there. Looked like you backed off the power when you hit the front.
Then at the end I couldn't quite tell if they went early and you were too far back, or you'd run out of beans a bit. But re-reading your post it sounds like the latter. Great steering though.

I entered the same race yesterday in B. I had a permanant Connection Failure 18:30 minutes in which ended my race. Not had one of them for a long time.

Hope i don't get one tonight in the ZRL 🤞
