You might have been OK in that one. There was a split after 5 laps when there was a surge and I just didn't have the juice left to keep up. But overall those who stayed with the split averaged >240W for the race and those who didn't were more like 220W (with one exception on both sides)

I did have quite a nice little game with the two other riders I was with for the last couple of laps though. 2 of us had steering and one didn't. That made an interesting dynamic as there was always someone you could draft who couldn't shake you off. Just about held onto it at the end with a peak 700W

I would have been struggling to keep up with the lead pack, similar power but superior W/kg

Absolutely 100%. I was in fact one of just 25 people that completed all races across all of the FRR series last season. Very proud of that.

I think I'm still team captain on that website - I'll check later today.
Excellent.

I've not really been feeling the love for racing in Zwift recently; I'm pretty sure I'd get shelled quickly in A-races and my legs are feeling a bit beaten-up from the running I've been doing. But I've been doing a few workouts and Z2/3 pacer bot rides, my training stress score is back into the 30s, and I've still got a bit of a punch.

I'm going to do something a bit different on Sunday morning - I've got permission from Mrs M to ride an IRL hill-climb at Stile Cop on Cannock Chase. It's only a club event (Brereton Wheelers), but it should be good fun to turn myself inside-out for three or four minutes. The last time I rode an IRL hill climb was a Westmead Team 88 club event on Long Hill in the summer of 2005, and I won that, so there's some honour to uphold!

Weather forecast is now showing rain and a 14mph headwind, so it could be fun :banghead:

Hope your hill climb went well @Legs .
I did the Zwift KoM one again this morning. You said to me before that you thought I could do sub 2-minute on it.

This time I carried a bit more speed into the start and managed to push 390W for 2 minutes (up from 378W) and came away with 1:58 and a bronze in B. ^_^

The HC was great, thanks! Although there were only eight riders, there were lots of hangers-on and supporters to cheer. There was a mountain bike DH race at Stile Cop, the parking for which was right by the finish line. I may have gone out a bit hard, and was suffering a bit in the middle, but finished strongly. I’d drawn the short straw of being first rider off, so I didn’t have anyone to chase. The hill was demoralisingly straight, and a big-ring affair, only pitching up to about 10%. Although the wind was supposedly blowing down the hill, it was well sheltered. Probably giving away a few seconds of tech with my 30 year old bike, but I was the only rider in a skinsuit! Because it was a CTT come-and-try-it event, I was able to ride unattached.

Great ride on the Wall, @alex_cycles . You do have to put the hammer down surprisingly early to build up enough speed to carry into the steep first corner. I’m yet to catch the perfect draft train up it! I think it’s my favourite Zwift climb.

A known issue for a looong while, and also the reason why I don't use them.

Outrageous that it took them this long to admit it.

Yup. Question is why Shimano didn’t react before, why now. Did they have a pressure from somewhere that they need to do something. I have 2 Shimano Ultegra cranksets but personally i am not gonna replace them because i don’t use them.
