I was contemplating joining you Alex, but wasn't feeling so enthusiastic. I decided to treat it as more a workout than achieving anything. There were a couple of B grade riders who tried to push the pace early on. The rest of us ignored their baiting. They spoilt the sprint finish though.

You might have been OK in that one. There was a split after 5 laps when there was a surge and I just didn't have the juice left to keep up. But overall those who stayed with the split averaged >240W for the race and those who didn't were more like 220W (with one exception on both sides)

I did have quite a nice little game with the two other riders I was with for the last couple of laps though. 2 of us had steering and one didn't. That made an interesting dynamic as there was always someone you could draft who couldn't shake you off. Just about held onto it at the end with a peak 700W

I've not really been feeling the love for racing in Zwift recently; I'm pretty sure I'd get shelled quickly in A-races and my legs are feeling a bit beaten-up from the running I've been doing. But I've been doing a few workouts and Z2/3 pacer bot rides, my training stress score is back into the 30s, and I've still got a bit of a punch.

I'm going to do something a bit different on Sunday morning - I've got permission from Mrs M to ride an IRL hill-climb at Stile Cop on Cannock Chase. It's only a club event (Brereton Wheelers), but it should be good fun to turn myself inside-out for three or four minutes. The last time I rode an IRL hill climb was a Westmead Team 88 club event on Long Hill in the summer of 2005, and I won that, so there's some honour to uphold!

Weather forecast is now showing rain and a 14mph headwind, so it could be fun :banghead:

Tim, do you know which performance is keeping you in A?

Is it the 27 June 5.1W/kg for 5 minutes?

I like the look of this-are we taking part?

Absolutely 100%. I was in fact one of just 25 people that completed all races across all of the FRR series last season. Very proud of that.

I think I'm still team captain on that website - I'll check later today.

I don't know - I've just had a 5.6W/kg 5 minutes drop off the back of 90 days, and within a fortnight all of my Zwift Hill Climb Club performances will have dropped off, and I'll probably go back to B.
When that happens. I don't suppose you're free on Tuesdays at 6pm? ;)
