I was informed by a busybody last year (after filming my Cx races) that you are not allowed to video British Cycling events.

(Not sure if Martin's was, but this may well be why riders don't do it.)
You can get prior permission to film BC events , I pretty sure Ed Laverack has filmed some of his races

I prefer the "ask for forgiveness, not permission" approach. To be fair, I knew of the rule in advance, but didn't record any more after someone pointed it out. I'd already got two full races by then ^_^ I'm not one for bullshitty rules and begging permission for things. I'd rather just not bother with any of it and ride on my own.

Does seem on old fashioned rule ,it's not like it's shown on TV , surely any coverage would encourage more participation

It's far worse than old-fashioned. The reason for it is to prevent people from being able to gather evidence to sue British Cycling or event organisers in case of a nasty accident. Really, really cynical, nasty legal nastiness and leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
(Rather like this one. Not everyone knows this, but if you have an accident caused by another British Cycling insured rider, you can't claim against them on your British Cycling insurance. It's just one reason why I have another policy as well as BC membership.)

Laptop was playing silly buggers (HDMI link to telly wasn’t working, so I deleted the Display Adapter drivers and restarted, which usually works, but for some reason when it restarted I only had the basic MS graphics card installed). Threw toys out of pram and ran Zwift on my iPhone 7 instead. Chose a workout. Thought that the erg was very laggy… then realised that I didn’t have erg mode engaged! 🤣. Thought my phone battery was going to run out but fortunately it just about lasted. Workout felt much tougher than it should have been, even with the first two 90s intervals nowhere near matching the target power, but I Got It Done. ✅

Now my laptop is behaving itself!

You can tell I haven't been outside at all this year. 90 minute race and my backside is not battle hardened

Nice write up. Sounds like that Twelves fella saved energy throughout and then pounced at the end. Would love to see the video of that uphill finish.

No Vid (yet) but a few pics.....

That's just cruel a nasty uphill finish. Suppose, a rider who kept their reserves in tact could come from way back to steal it.
Perfect for a light sprinter

By the way, did the DRS series thingy yesterday. Penultimate stage, sprinters course. Cleaned up on FTS - 1st through both in my race, and in fact across all categories. Only 7th on FAL and 6th on the line though, so ended up second overall.

Know the feeling. At the weekend I spent more than three hours on the bike for the first time since the start of June (ToC) and the saddle sores were out in force the next morning. And to think my originally planned ride was going to be a good 60-90 minutes longer - glad I cut it short really!

I think it kind of suited me. I tend to put out more power on an incline. We'd slowed a bit in the run up to it so I was able to get a decent sprint going.

Strange to see Deano was doing it seated. 🤔

It really has been hard to get the outdoor miles in this "summer". I've ridden a lot less outdoor than usual because of all the high winds and rain.
At least I've had good value out of my Zwift subs though and won't have to "start again" like I did last year.
The main thing I haven't done that I wanted to do is some more of the 100 climbs. Not done a single new one yet this year. Hopefully September/October might change that.
