Hey @Peter Salt I'm racing at Hetton Lyons Country Park this weekend. Have you ridden the circuit there? Not sure how far away you are?

I moved a bit further south and am now at the very tip of the Humber

Shame it's this weekend and not the next, as I will be visiting Staithes and would definitely make the trip from there.

Not familiar with the circuit at all.

I did my first proper race in probably a month. Lungs held up well post race. Legs were pretty good. I messed up on the last lap with my phone muting my music, by the time I un-paused it I had lost the group draft, went into the red catching up and then blew up. Too much technology going on.

Used the steering well to gain lots of places on the twisty loop.

You tried multi-tasking? Rookie error.

I play my music (not just Enya) through Alexa when I'm zwifting so that I don't muck that up. She turns my fan on and off for me, too.

Have learnt not to try typing messages mid-race!

You are hitting some insane w/kg sprint numbers Peter. How'd you find the race?
Power was good, thanks. But so was everyone else's. It was another one of those 'smash the segment, rest in between' sessions so legs were fresh for the sprints.

We let two guys up the road as they were both A cat. riders that somehow are in ZR Emerald. First FTS I wasn't entirely happy with, but came 3rd; second FTS was spot on and I won that. FAL on the next lap is best not mentioned - completely messed it up and ended up outside top 10, and then the same with the finish. I definitely need to work on my timing - convince myself it's better to go early and, at worst, get overtaken by 1-2 riders in the draft, then to wait for too long and never overtake anyone, despite having the potential.

I have to admit I'm not too invested in these. I'm doing my best physically but the head isn't quite there. I definitely don't enjoy it as much as the ZRL or FRR. I'll finish it, as I don't like starting stuff and not finishing, but will likely hold fire on any future DIRT series - maybe let them do 2-3 races before checking the field and deciding whether to join.

Will definitely do the next event, as it's Harrogate. It's very difficult not to have a good race there. Last race in the series is La Reine - which may be real 'fun'. Everything in between looks a bit bland.

By the way: Last call if someone wants to join this forum ride.

[EDIT]:
Completely random, but someone just sent me this, and I can't unhear it
