He wasn't tightening was he?

The left pedal you turn clockwise to undo if you're on the same side as the pedal.

Or stay on the drive side and it's lefty loosy, righty tighty

Cheap Allen socket if it shattered 😳

No, definitely doing it correctly .... drive side pedal was a bugger too, but thankfully that did come off as I didn't fancy buying all new kit for that. It's the left side that's not budging.

I did the Tinies in B this morning. Bloody hell that was hard! Best was 49th in race 1. (Would have been 9th in C with that time)

When Atom sorted, I plan to give them a go in B ... that should put me in my place haha

So you've been regularly exercising for over 23 years than? ;)

Out of interest: How are you managing gym and cycling? I do it too and it's becoming harder the more I try to cycle, obviously. Recently started doing leg days again - very difficult to weave those in without completely compromising your riding.

I tend to do gym one day, cycling the next ... roughly. If I do legs in gym it's usually low weight, high reps. I'm not trying to build leg bulk, but stronger legs would be nice. Plus I can hit muscles in the gym I don't hit as hard cycling (like glutes).

Off to gym later .... shoulders, back, arms day. Won't touch legs as I did a 2 hour ride yesterday so resting them up

Running machine has been dragged around from home to home, spent most of its life mothballed

Regarding gym, I'm going to have to sacrifice some cycling intensity to do weights. Getting older I want to maintain and even build some extra muscle.

Like Martin suggested, doing weights on same high intensity day. I could easily do upper body directly after a race for instance. Legs would be less intensity.

The conventional wisdom is to do leg days on your hard cycling training days - bike in the morning and gym as much later as possible the same day.

I have been meaning to get back in the gym for a while but it hasn't happened yet.

Interesting- not doing so doesn’t seem to have adversely impacted your recovery and power at all. Query what would happen if you did.

A bit of serendipity re the right pedal. I left my old old damaged frame set outside the front today. Speedily taken away by someone. Attached to the crank was a speedplay pedal that I and 2 bike shops could not remove. I put it on years ago and probably over tightened it and after the frame was damaged it became my turbo frame. Sweat then did its thing. Stuck solid. Waste of a pedal. Lesson learnt. I screw all my pedals, even the power play pedals, by hand, touch of bio grease and slightest tighten with allen jet to ensure no movement. The power play pedals have been removed and attached perhaps 10 times without issue. ( touches wood😀)

Another 3hr Zwift ride. Snatched 1st on the run for the line

Well done. I snatched 42nd in Gold (B) on Chasing Roubaix this morning. It was 7 laps of Lutece Express. We did 5 laps the other way round for ZRL and that was hell. But at least there were no sprints this time. I lasted a bit over a minute in the front group, then found a bunch of mostly Cs to work with for the next hour and a quarter

The weather seems to be telling me it's time to focus a bit more on outdoor though:biggrin:

131 of 778 in Gold, but with some races later today, so that might slide down a bit (it did - to 139).
Doing these as some endurance training for outdoor.
