I'll give it a few tries with a new unclipping method.

If I find it really difficult, I was thinking I could use the right Assioma on my outdoor bike and double the power in the settings, and fit the left one to the Wattbike for dual recording.

All this experimenting is a bit overdue - I didn't want to do it in the middle of the racing series, now I'm not that bothered.

I think you'll like having the data from outdoor. Also gives you a way to properly track your TSS

Is @Whorty back yet? Trying to figure out if i need to protect my league position or not...

Just got back ... not sure whether I'll have a chance to cycle yet this week .... been working hard in Jordan, ironically riding with an ex Jordanian TT champion ... one day there was about 20km left and he let us off the reigns ... a couple of the guys went off the front, I chased them down, ala Zwift, sat on their wheel ... then the TT guy came past us and I chased on his wheel and sat in it (with another chap on my wheel) for the best part of 10km ... only on hybrid bikes, but hitting 40kph
Did have some bad asthma attacks during the week, mostly on the climbs - probably due to the altitude ...

I may do Thursday ... not sure yet

Maybe sit it out 😳

Did another chase race. My average heart rate tends to be low in these races as it's too easy to sit in and attack, so I probably will try and all out 20min effort (i.e. the TT) to see where power is at

Did another Chasingtour race today. 55km Greatest London Flat. I managed to hold onto the fast group for 6 minutes this time (better than 40s last time). It contained Joakim Lisson and Josh Harris. I got spat out on the 500m 7% climb. Really enjoying these. 93% IF for 1hr 22 is quite hard though.

I see @13 rider did the later one as well. Did you enjoy it?

Nice attempt there Alex. :okay: :okay: Trouble is you're racing both A and B .

They were doing 6.5-7.5W/kg up the first bump.

You did your usual start at the back but were slow to ramp up to match the W/kg. I suggest Carl's approach- stay at the front, react to everything

Yes I did enjoy it ,but I do find starts with all cats difficult as you really don't know who your racing and I always unsure just how hard to go as your not sure where the front of your cat is

Haha - 6.95 W/kg is my best ever 1-minute power. And after that start I wasn't able to do it. I was at the back because I was already in the process of "being dropped" - not for FTS tactics. My goal was to try and hang with the front for 10 minutes. I managed 6, which at least allowed me to beat more Bs than last time when I was second-last in B.

I don't think I like these all cats together mass starts on a long race because you're essentially buggered before you get going. But I'm enjoying stretching the envelope a bit and trying to build up some fitness for longer outdoor rides. (And the upcoming DRS series, where I'm racing in a Gold 1 team.)

I use ZP live for that, but it's not that encouraging to see I'm almost last most of the time. It also makes you realise there's a huge number of people who "quit".

Hi Phil, it was a bit easier in Alex's event, the riders were labelled by Category. He was mixing it with the A/B, the C were mostly dropped at the start. I did see C a bit ahead in result, maybea bigger rider with more raw Watts

The guy who sprinted past me right at the end was a C. He came 3rd in C, so there were two others ahead of me.

In this race the Cs started in the pen behind, so not many of them made it across. In the last one I did, the Cs were in front, so a LOT of them beat me. I'm told pen positioning is random.

Yes, definitely one of the reasons why I wanted one. Thus far, for outdoor rides, I've been just eyeballing stress - quite inaccurate and tedious but better than nothing.

Experimented a bit yesterday. Learned that there's a crank length setting on the Garmin - which takes precedence over what you put in the Assioma app. Got the left pedal working on its own and showing accurate power. Got the right pedal working on its own as well but it's displaying half the power - wrote a ticket to Assioma whether there's a simple way to double it (that I'm clearly missing).

Just me and @Legs signed up for the Jungle ITT tomorrow. Anyone else jumping in?

Is swapping pedals that much of a pain? Takes me about 2 minutes a pair.

For my gravel/Cx/MTB rides I don't have the power meter but intervals.icu gives a TSS estimate based on heart rate data.
It isn't as accurate, but it's better than a guess. (Usually estimates slightly high - or seems to).

Yes on mine, it gets you to confirm the crank length each time you switch on and it detects a power meter. Then asks you "Calibrate?" (which isn't really a calibration, but a zero-offset  , but that may be different on Assioma - I have Garmin Vector 3)

I'm not doing evening rides any more, but I might do it in the morning.

Yeah and it is quite easy to forget to change it if you have bikes with different crank lengths.

EDIT - just seen Alex's reply. Mine (Powertap pedals and Garmin Edge 830) doesn't prompt about crank length.
