Now that I have been a flu I have noticed how amazingly well Garmin Fenix 7s gives a sign that you are coming ill. HRV-status start to drop, also training status change from productive to strained, today it's been recovery which sounds much better.
I find HRV pretty good but it can be confusing and a bit misleading as it's a sign of total stress. Travel, a late night, early morning, alcohol, racing late in the evening etc. can all mess with your HRV.
But, in times of relative stability, HRV and resting heart rate can be a really good indicator. I've found my RHR goes up a couple of days before I even know I'm ill. But you have to take that with a pinch of salt too as it's also dependent on activity levels, alcohol, stress etc.

Worked a treat as it was a "same time starts, all cats visible" race (and some of the C pen were B-cats as it was non-CE. They are labelled C in the race, but get reclassified when the results are done. ZP live shows you what you need to know.)
