I had to get my heart rate down after the climb so chose to soft pedal the descent, then watched you accelerate away! Phil sat up at the top of the escalator and we rode the flat together - tried to stay with him on the 2nd ascent of Fox by using my feather only for him to trigger his as soon as mine finished! Not that I would have probably stayed with him for that much longer if he hadn't had one, but still.I was able to use gravity to catch up with Phil then Carl. I thought Steve might have latched on for the descent.
Well you couldn't have been that slow; you put an extra 27 seconds on the gap to me on the final climb!Carl left me easily on the climb whilst I was slowly dying, all the while my 45sec gap was being whittled down to 7secs
Never has a fat fella been so pleased to see the crest of a hill
I enjoyed that . Sneakily out sprinted Carl on the first climb just for fun . Then cruised round and spent the all the second climb chasing down Andy( 45 seconds was enough ) and putting some time but not enough into Steve .
I did think ... what the feck's he doing
Great riding everyone, a race of two groups 😅
I had my work cutout at first trying not to get dropped, to which I did. I was able to use gravity to catch up with Phil then Carl. I thought Steve might have latched on for the descent.I worked with Carl to create a gap on the flat. Carl left me easily on the climb whilst I was slowly dying, all the while my 45sec gap was being whittled down to 7secs

I was in two minds as to whether to dig on lap one or the final climb - had @Ketty and @mjd1988 shown up, I don’t think I could have stayed away and I’d have bided my time. Was blowing a bit on the second ascent! Thanks for pushing me so hard - had it been two full laps, the @bridgy / @Peter Salt / @Milzy group would have had me!
Getting the antidote to the Hivey badge
That was tough. Just didn't have the legs, the lungs or the heart today. Didn't even try to chase @Legs when he bolted - just caught up to @bridgy and @Milzy and hoped I can hang on. Bastards dropped me on the descent but I got them back on the escalator. PB up Fox on both laps but not even close to desirable power numbers.
I wonder how much time the body needs to recover. Probably got the flu thingy because of how compromised my strength was too.
Still, no way I would catch Tim - even in my top form. Congrats for another win! Thanks for setting up @steverob (and keeping me company on Discord too). Well done everyone
