First race was a bit of a shock to the body, I needed a longer warm up. The Queen's highway was much nicer, a bit of inattention cost me a chance to go group finish.

Video to come. I was able to watch others when dropped

Was great seeing you and @Brusgaard in the group race 2

And Steen almost latched back on race 1 ... got to within 4 seconds with Nick attacked

You're definitely getting your mojo back mate :training:

Figured my best chance was to go solo rather than chance my arm with the sprinters…. I guessed that if I got a gap, you’d all look at each other and not want to chase me.

Must say that the second race was more enjoyable, though! It was a very cagey finale - Pete’s finish was awesome - must check his numbers 😳

Thanks very much for setting it up, @steverob 👍

We tried to chase you down but didn't have the legs (pardon the pun) ... I think we were all in the red and no one had the ability to chase.

Those couple of digs you put in race 2, last lap, did for me. Cracking rides by everyone.

So here's the results after the two mini stages:

Anyone like me who didn't get the chance to take part tonight but are looking to do later rounds will get the time listed at the bottom for these stages (I think we said +5%, but if I'm mistaken I can change that to whatever makes the most sense).

Stage 3 is scheduled for 19:00 next Tuesday, with Stages 4 & 5 yet to be decided.

I was watching @Brusgaard closely. I knew I couldn’t have him in our group at the finish but decided not to bother pushing until the short climb, even if he came back in.

I was hoping that the solo effort to bridge would mean there wasn’t enough in the tank to follow up the climb.

To be fair to Chris he was only 2 or so seconds behind me to race 2 not a minute

Had you guys pushed on you'd have dropped me easily. I could barely turn the pedals the second lap. I was glad you guys cruised. Definitely helped me.

Yeah I was all at sea. My warm up was not good enough as well and wasn't really expecting the digs from the gun, so I was just trying to stay in contention at that point.

I did Stage 3 of Race Scotland yesterday. It was on the Muckle Yin course which I haven't done before so I didn't know where I was most of the time ^_^

It was a very big field with 420 starters - and it was very highly ranked for a C race, 146 I think - so it was always going to be fast.... and it was!

I came 21st on the road and 19th on ZP and got my best ever race ranking of 202 which is a good sign.

The vid is here. Might be worth watching if you plan to do it later.
