Just thinking how many Zwifters swap the bikes to trainer depending what virtual bike they ride. Maybe with road bike and tt bike some might will do. Probably good reason to keep touch to different riding position.

Haha, and in case of gravel/MTB - have someone throw dirt at you, for added immersion

I hadn't even looked .... I may need @alex_cycles and his analysis to help me out!

ZI reckons a gravel bike is 4s faster, but it’s an awkward course to choose on because it really depends where you want to have your advantage. The start and finish are on tarmac, but the middle ‘half’ is dirt, and you can make up some time on the spiral dirt climb if you go that way. But it will make the finish very hard. Difficult one to call.

I have to admit that I was thinking MTB and gravel bike as well. As far as I know, some will select the virtual MTB on Zwift only because they ride outdoor with MTB as well, despite that is slower selection on Zwift. But who cares, it will probably gives good training sessions as well, doesn't hurt anyone.

Also remember all ZI tests are based on a rider riding in a world alone with no drafting. If this was a race with a sizeable pack and more than half were on road bikes, there is a big risk the few gravel bikes could get dropped near the start and lose the draft if everyone else put the hammer down. It then wouldn't matter being theoretically 4 seconds per lap faster if they were already 10 seconds down as the climb started.

Yeah if you are Ed Laverack and want to blow everyone away on the climb and don't have a sprint it's the way to go. Tim and Peter could do that but they can also sprint!
