Well, they sell you the pedal spindle, so it's as difficult as replacement/maintenance of that part. I'm sure you've done it many times by the sound of it ;) You just unscrew the center part of the pedal and screw the new one in. As easy as screwing

The difference in Q-factor between my trainer and my road bike is over 30mm and I can't tell the difference, Juha. There's no way anyone could feel a 10mm difference.

That's what she said!

I'm ok screwing, but there aren't normally spindles involved!

I'm the person who can't even change a tyre ... actually, I usually struggle to get the wheel off, and don't get me started about getting it back on again!

So in laymens terms ... they supply everything, and all I have to do is screw one bit off and another on?

Next question is ... where do I find this stuff - I've googled and I've confused :banghead:

Maybe that’s why Assioma originally did Look compatible power pedals. Gplama have a video when he tested this Duo-Shi kit. I would link the video but i am at a work now and i am bit of butter finger with this phone.

I know a few people using the shimano version without issue. Or at least they have never said anything.
Fwiw when I had my first bike fit years ago I ended up with a 5mm axle extension on the right axle when using spd pedals. Removed when I moved to speedplay. I cannot say I noticed either change.

I guess we can say that Assioma would’t release that kit if it causes any issues. All what i said was read from the net, not knowing are those test/reviews any fact. Maybe they are words for warning just incase.

Ah, different to my pedals - I have SPD not SPD-SL .... my pedals aren't on the compatible list

I'm tempted to just buy the Garmin pre done ones, one sided about £500 ... definitely be nice to have power on my outdoor rides to see how I ride outdoors compared to indoors. Hoping I can get a lot more outdoor riding this summer as last year I lost pretty much the whole of the outdoor season due to the calf injury

I think there's a third-party kit for SPD. I would play around with that, but then again I build my own bikes and fix the car

If it reassures anyone I'm not handy at all and found the spd-sl spindles easy to install and had no issues with the q factor
