You may prefer the Zwift Flat is Fast series. One a week and it has just started, so you are in good time.

That sounds very acceptable... Fat is Flat is Fast series

I have signed up for the 6pm one. Looking forward to dying on my ass after 2 weeks of boozing and being full of cold.

Dusted off the turbo last night, thought I'd start off with a benchmark for the year.

Unfortunately chose the wrong ramp test, it did give me an estimated FTP of 230w which I was pleasantly surprised with considering my lack of exercise recently.

Managed to get up to a 10 year high of 90kg over christmas though!

Having a stab at dry January and trying to get something logged on strava each day (run/bike/walk etc) so hopefully increase the FTP and reduce the weight.

Good start there Martin just 4s off the lead.

Cheers - quite pleased with that result. The main thing to watch out for is to not get dropped on the short rise just before the left turn before Titan's - after about 10km.

I came 30th of 160 starters and in the lead pack, but not enough left to stay near the front of the pack.

Even if I hadn't done those two races yesterday, I know I would have got dropped on the Hilly KOM (e.g. within a mile of the start) regardless, so I decided not to even try racing, keep to my own pace and let everybody disappear into the distance. And that definitely happened - apart from people coming down the Radio Tower climb as I was going up it, I barely saw another rider all race. I was 45th out of 48 at the top of the first hill, then 44th at the top of the Epic and 43rd over the Volcano and at the finish line.

But I did get my second best time up the Epic and PR'd on the Epic/Tower combo - not that that's much to shout about as I'd never done those climbs as a race before, so my previous times weren't exactly stellar.

Signed on to for 18.30 ,still not sure wether to start legs aching still from yesterday . Lacking a bit of motivation as I have little intention of doing the last 2 stages

Starting my warm-up in half hour for the 17:30 slot. Group size less relevant today as everything will fall apart on the Epic, but wanted it done sooner rather than later. Looks like another 1.5h session, at least.

Nicely timed draft PU Martin :okay:

Very deceptive that gentle ramp when the leaders put the hammer down.

Here is me yesterday running at 5+W/kg absolutely gassing, nearly dropped over the crest. Video starts on the climb

I think the first 6kms are the best as I'm still in the race . I forgot your solo breakaway comment I did come to the front afterwards to do a pull and hoped everyone would think we had a cunning team plan and pull to stop a breakaway ,not sure it worked out that way .
I meant to ask how were the disc wheels on the climb
