Better quality batteries would be my choice instead…
Northern Ireland has a weird customs difficulty with batteries. It for 50 for the price of 4 Panasonic, and I ordered the Panasonic's in November whereas these were ordered at Christmas...

Yes, Panasonic, Varta, Duracell and other brand names are my go to batteries for the important stuff. You can get cheap “noname” batteries at every supermarket, but the quality is questionable. Sometimes you are lucky, and next time the same “brand” is crap. I have tried different sorts in my HRMs, and some stops working after only a few weeks.

No need to do all stages, but if you wish to do at least one: You need to tick the 'Watopia' box in your FRR profile:

I can see Alex, Martin, Phil and me signed up so far.

First stage is a flying lap of volcano ITT on Monday. Just 7.5k, no risk of getting promoted, everyone on the same bike. Would be cool way to start 2023 with more of you around :okay:

That needs some thinking about ,If a strong riders gets put in with a bunch of the weakest riders they will win every battle . Does the captain have to strategically place his riders in an order . If teams go strongest to weakest ,number 1 will be the strongest or are the numbers random?

Looks like it goes in the order of signing up, which means it's pretty random, really unless we deliberately ensure that our riders sign up in a specific order (which could be done, but is it worth it?) But it looks like it is kind of "anti-FTS"

(Edit to add: update from WTRL... It's based on RANKING, not signup order - but they don't say WHAT ranking)

I was in the middle of coming up with a beautiful FTS strategy for Chain Chomper, but this probably blows it out of the water completely because it means staying at the front on 4-6 segments will be far more valuable than hanging back for huge efforts on one segment. However they haven't yet specified if it will be ALL segments or only some. So we don't yet have the full picture.

It does look, however, like these could be worth a LOT more than finish points, so it might be worth pressing hard early on to ensure good points and not worry so much about the finish.

I’ve signed up @Peter Salt but won’t be doing all the stages. If I make the start line for stage 1 I’ll be doing well 😊

@Whorty just noticed you were in the same chase race as me this afternoon - I didn’t spot you on the road as I was shelled by the front group of Bs at the first gravelly climb.
