My new HRM arrived today :hyper:
And it works! :hyper:

I spoke / typed too soon. I hit (recorded) 200bpm on this mornings club ride and whilst I was getting it tight in the headwind a couple of times I’m sure i didn’t get anywhere near 200. If 200 was correct then I’d expect to be lying waiting on an ambulance saying as my max in the last 8 years of recording has been 178. Isn’t the saying “Buy cheap buy twice”

I just order new HRM as well. My Garmin HRM-Pro didn't want to live anymore so it go to HRM:s heaven, I try to give CPR but it was dead. I hope the new one work much longer when it arrives.

Never had a HRM die on me. Still occansionally using the hardstrap one that came with my Edge 705 back in ‘08. What are you guys doing since yours die??? Usually a new battery is all that is needed.

What I did I change new battery (I tried more than 1) and after that I tried factory reset, flip the battery for a few seconds. Maybe transmitter wasn't totally waterproof and had some moisture to electronics. Also I washed belt thoroughly, especially electrodes.

My batterys don't last very long but I think only one has properly died on me (the metal from the body of it rusted into the metal in the strap and all broke apart).

Oops. Entered a 'cat enforced' race in C but dq'd on zwiftpower as 0.01w/kg over limit into B there. Strange that they let you enter, but no matter, should've double checked!

Finally got a decent stand for my fan, have been using an ironing board for too long!

CE & ZP don't talk to each other, but race organizers can switch both on and use both, which causes this sort of issue.

I found out that removing my Wahoo Tickr from the strap makes it sleep between use and extends battery life. I've used 3 or 4 batteries in the time I've had it, maybe 5 years

I bought a Magene H64 - I had never heard of the make before searching for a replacement - I came across someone recommending it whilst browsing for a new Tickr. My take on the reviews was that the latest edition of the Tickr was getting quite poor reviews.

I’m on my fourth HRM in about 8 years - my first Garmin I left in a hotel room in Sydney 🤦‍♂️ second Garmin died, moved to Wahoo which failed inside the warranty period and they replaced free of charge. my current Wahoo Tickr I’ve tried CPR …new battery, master reset like @JuhaL suggests, different chest strap, no luck, it pairs to Zwift but no heart rate (blue light flashes but no red light).

So it looks like I’ll have to shell out for another, perhaps I’ll go back to Garmin if the reviews of the Tickr are to be believed.

Hey Nick @BurningLegs - where are you hiding? All okay?

Hi Martin 🙂

Yeah I’m okay, thanks for asking. December has been mental though - lots of illness personally and in the household, and lots of socialising (mostly with work until last week) has left me really quite drained. I’m going to have to call December an “off season” I think 😝

Have events planned in March, April, and May now so looking forward to getting back in the saddle.

Sounds like it was worth the wait ;)

I've got two straps, both from Garmin. The older one I keep as a spare - had it for around 5 years now - only has Ant+ and the battery lasts forever. The newer I got last October, when I started cycling - it has Ant+ and BT and the battery lasted a year or about 8,000k before needing replacement. I think it's just called HRM Dual or something similar.

Get one of these. Like I said before the arm band one has been pretty much flawless but chest variants if you don’t mind catching ya chest hair 😁
