The Splitters team is going to be at least one man down for the TTT next Tuesday - it's a big week for us having won the last two stages and now being top of our league by just 1 point.

I asked @bobinski if he could step in and I think he's willing to but he has suggested there may be riders with more watts in the CCC team that would be a better fit for us in the TTT if he instead rode with CCC.

I appreciate CCC may have rider number issues as well but if anyone is willing or able to help out next Tuesday for our shot at winning the league, without complete scuppering CCC team of course, it would be appreciated...?

Or if there's anyone else who doesn't usually do the Tuesday ZRL races but might be able to contribute to the B team in the TTT, and is able to make it next Tuesday night?

Cheers guys...

I've not ridden for CCC this round so I can step in if you are desperate. Please be aware despite me having a 20 min power of about 280 watts I'm coming off the back of a cold and haven't ridden for 2 weeks. And I'm a D ^_^

If you need a hand I am happy to help but understand if you would rather a fitter rider who can stick with you all for longer. I might only last 10 mins!

I wouldn't be much help I'm afraid Paul. My current best 20 mins is only 255 watts, which on a flat course like this would see me shelled quite quickly and I'd have no chance of doing a pull. I'd be totally toast after that 20 mins too. I'm better off helping out CCC where even there I struggle on TTTs to stick to the group and take my turn.

I think we're at the bare minimum too on Tuesday .... it's all those Christmas parties

Just an article about recognising addiction cycling/training/numbers (cough….)

You might be able to link though via this link

Ah, yes. Obsession with data and overtraining. I'm definitely guilty of the former, but not as much as @alex_cycles ;)

As for training - I'm still new to the whole cycling game. I don't have a training plan, but I did my homework and have what I would call training principles.
- I do a lot of Z2 pace partner pootles and smash it once or twice a week (race or at the very least Z2 ride followed by a few sprint efforts).
- I try for each week to have a higher training volume (hours) than the previous week. Last week in the 'series' needs to be a killer!
- Once I get to 4-5 weeks in accordance to the above, I start over but try to make sure that week 1 is harder than previous week 1, so it kind of looks like this (this week still in progress):
Screenshot_20221201-141913.png
- Every few months I really take time off with very little to no hard riding for 2 weeks at all.

Not looking foward to the surrey hills stage
Ha! That one has a lot of hills but at least you know where they start and end. Harrogate (today) - now that's a killer. Bumps and descents all the time, gradients of 18% out of nowhere, absolute carnage. And the custom finish line is on top of Pot Bank Wall (3rd time up) - that's cruelty dialed up to 11

Thanks very much for the offer to ride @Joffey . Sounds like Andy's agreed to ride with us and as he's race fit and you're still on the road to recovery I think we'll take up his offer, but thanks again for putting your hand up, much appreciated

@CXRAndy thank you for offering to ride in the Splitters B team for the TTT next Tuesday and @bobinski thank you for stepping in to team CCC.

I've just been double checking our team situation and there is an outside chance we will be OK without needing to take Andy - @mjd1988 is currently without a bike/trainer but there's an outside possibility his replacement will arrive and he'll be back up and running in time. BUT, even if that happens we will need everyone else to still be available - which rarely happens! But obviously we're really keen to have a full roster for this one to keep us in with a shot of 1st place in the league going into the final race.

So I will keep an eye on everyone's availability and we will probably be in a position to make a final decision on Monday if that's OK Andy and Bob?
