How did the first ZRL race of the new season go for you guys in team CCC? Did you get promoted I can't remember?

The Splitters B team did get promoted (unfortunately Tommy got promoted too so we'll definitely miss him :headshake:) but we got off to a cracking start with second place tonight.

Strong start for CCC 4th overall.

Carl and Alex gathering lots of points. I got some sprint points too- for once

come on B s lets have a report/video :okay:

Posted at the same time as you I think Andy!

I can't really give too much detail on everyone else's race but I know we had most of the team in the front group right to the bottom of the final climb.

Personally I had a good Aqueduc KOM - I seem to do well on those punchy climb/sprints. Used my starting at the back tactic and sprinted to 2nd FAL and got 1st FTS. Just survived the other sprints really but picked up a couple of points. Was dying at the end of the final climb but dug in and got 3rd overall- very happy with that considering I didn't feel too great and haven't really raced for ages!

Video on its way....:okay:

We were 4th on the night which is pretty good given we're in the top league with some of the highest ranking C riders. Top 3 teams have some monster sprinters, so as a team we'll never beat them, but lots of individual battles throughout the race.

Well done Splitters on 2nd ... that's fantastic given you were promoted too

I notice that you and Marino.g don't super-tuck on the descent- is there a reason for that? Is it just that you prefer to keep the legs spinning and are happy to give up a bit of speed for that?

If I supertuck, with my extra weight I fly off the front, then I will need to put in a short burst of power as the pack whizzes by.

I find more comfortable to soft pedal to actually make me slower and stay in the draft, so I don't need to put any sudden efforts in.

I will supertuck when its one on one racing, where I can see a chance to break the draft, but not a group.
