I would think that 'one crash too many' for Rog was a few crashes ago  A true warrior on the road, but the sheer number of incidents he's involved in is baffling. On this specific occasion, he has no one to blame but himself. Still, threw his toys out of the pram well and proper. What a shame.

Sportsman's ego, coupled with a knock on the head? Roglic looked absolutely dazed.
Did you see him riding to the finish with his glasses half hanging off?

Silly the team agreed to speak out though. Should have kept a lid on it. Don't see what there is to gain.
I did think it slightly odd, immediately after the finish (was watching GCN live) when Fred Wright blurted out "it wasn't deliberate". That is the ONLY thing that made me remotely suspicious. But they get harrangued by the media - it must be difficult to say the right thing when you've got adrenaline coursing through the veins after a massive effort.

I have to say that my opinion of Primoz has gone down significantly over these comments. I hope he re-thinks things and settles things down.

I wouldn’t over think to be honest. He’s just pissed off and lashing out. It puts him in the same club as about a million other sportsmen doing post event interviews. No one’s died. I’m sure he’ll already of accepted what actually happened.

Yeah I get that - but this was long after he had time to cool down and think about it. It is quite a strong accusation against a young rider.

It could take some of these guys weeks to get over heavy set backs. Where as we as the spectator just move on to the next bit of entertainment. I’m not saying it’s right to attack people like that. But that’s sport. They’re big boys. If not then they need to be. His team are just backing him even though they know he’s out of line. That lets him know they have his back. That’s what teams do from time to time.

We live in a time of the media trained to the millimetre sportsmen. Where they’re programmed to stay on message constantly in front of the media Roger federer style. But the reality of what these guys actually think isn’t close to that. When the mask slips from time to time maybe just accept that they’re only humans competing for their meal tickets and what it took for them to get to this point, rather than robots they pretend to be 99% of the time. They say unfortunate sh!t that they don’t mean from time to time. I think that’s the reality. So no need to get offended on other athletes behalf! They’re not that soft…

Because I guarantee they all accept it as part of the game.

Not the first and probably not the last time he looked like death over the line ;)

Agree. He had a few days to cool down, review the footage, etc.

I wonder if this is some sort of 'attack is your best defence' strategy. At the end of the day, Wright sticked to his line, next to the barriers, Rog deviated and smashed into him. It ended with Rog bouncing off, but might as well with Wright in the barriers.

Yep, that’s it for me. 2 days of reflection and looking at the footage and the pictures and he/they still take to social media, mid stage, to take a pop at a young rider who has done nothing. Piss poor.

Harsh!

Just placed a cycle to work scheme order for a Scott Addict!

Will leave me with a pub bike, CaadX CX bike (current do it all), and the Addict road bike (which will just be for outdoors road rides).

It’ll mean I can put a proper CX chainset back on the CaadX and do some more cyclocross racing which I’m pretty excited about (did an event last week and spent the entire time in 34/28 and it was torture )

Edited - my single speed CX bike was clearly 34/28 rather than 34/11!

We have local event next month for off road trail riding

https://www.sientries.co.uk/event.p...1WHFOy_KOs3lkQV-qmMCaM9McttrWUmQKQ3iYTOfhzNMc

Now the good bit, I think I can get a number of free tickets (I have some influence ), if anyone from this forum is interested. I understand its a small local event so will probably be more attractive to those of you in the vicinity. let me know if this is your thing. PM me if you prefer.
