Roglic blames Fred Wright.

Hey Primoz, you drifted across towards the line of riders, where everyone was winding up for the sprint . You obviously weren't aware of Fred's position was left of the line. Racing accident which regrettably ended your tour

Actually, that does raise a good question/point .... I was at the front of the pen. Presumably this guy who 'beat' me was behind me in the pen. He beat me by 0.17 of a second.

Doesn't the clock start when you cross the pen clock banner, so he could easily have been 0.5 seconds behind me leaving the pen as speeds are slow at the off, I cross the finish line 0.37 seconds ahead of him in the sprint but in Zwift he 'beats' me.

Does this mean that a good tactic is actually to start at the back of the pen? Then you don't always have to finish ahead of someone to beat them?
The "Elapsed Time" clock at the top of the screen on Zwift, plus also any Strava segments, all begin at the start line at the end of the pens, which on some courses can take 20-30 seconds to reach even if you're on the front line of your pen.

However the times on both ZwiftPower and the results leaderboard that pops up at the end of the race, both start counting from as soon as the countdown clock hits 0:00.

Must have been an internet lag then today as I'm pretty sure there was no one in front of me as I crossed the line today ... although my head was down and I couldn't see through the sweat, so I could have missed him pip me on the line.

So the discrepancy must be down to good-old-fashioned lag/latency then?
The guy in the black jersey on my right here S O'Connor clearly crossed the line ahead of me in this video, but his time was 0.006s slower and his result didn't appear in the table until a few seconds after some of the others below me. Connection latency.

I would think that 'one crash too many' for Rog was a few crashes ago  A true warrior on the road, but the sheer number of incidents he's involved in is baffling. On this specific occasion, he has no one to blame but himself. Still, threw his toys out of the pram well and proper. What a shame.
