Or a road bike with knobby tyres - oh wait, that's a gravel bike innit? ;)

No it's a CX bike OR a gravel bike ^_^ Biggest nobbliest tyres you can fit at nice low pressure.

I was actually quite happy with my Alpe d'Huez climb, despite the unfortunate diversion at the last roundabout! I had felt awful at the end of the previous day's riding, and was considering bailing out of doing it completely but the next morning ,once I got going, my legs did actually work better than I had expected!

There is a segment that stops at that last roundabout where I went wrong and I can report I was 4 minutes slower than Tommy and 9 minutes slower than Lee - I'll take that! (Not that it's a race 😌)

It’s amazing what you can talk your body into isn’t it!

I couldn’t imagine doing long rides back to back (to back etc) under normal circumstances. But on cycling trips a lot of people find day 2 or 3 the hardest. And then your legs kind of start talking to you again after that.

Yeah I remember you told me that would happen on day 4 - and you were right!

Knowing that descent and now knowing how your day was going I am surprised you made it down alive!
Hey! I'd already made it down Port des cannonge with no incidents! I did decide to sack off the descent to Sa Calobra though, no not because I was tired, but I wasn't sure if the bike had been damaged beyond what was visible :eek:
Aleman it’s that yelp just before you go over the edge

Pure resignation. I’ve definitely been there

Re-watched, this time with the volume turned up :okay:
Hmmm? Then perhaps I should have added a NSFW? It may have come off as a yelp but it was more of a "FUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!":rofl:

It was good that that tree was there though, although the drop was only a couple of feet, I did manage to take of a serious amount of velocity:banghead:

Yep totally agree with that :okay:

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
We might be going to our local summer agricultural show next month. Part of the events is local grass track championships :okay:

Dry grass is like ice on narrow tyres with no brakes
Knobbly tyres, or rather, the narrowest you can get away with that have some form of tread.

It's daft, slidey, fast track racing where you can sometimes end up unhurt in a bush :bicycle:

For info Tom Pidcock started out racing grasstrack at Roundhay in Leeds. And look where he is now ...
