Took advantage of my eldest daughters ( 12 years old ) inset day today, we cycled to the Midford Viaduct via the Two Tunnels near Bath.

We choose this ride as it would be her longest to date 50km and is probably the flattest available 50 in the area.

Great weather with lots of tree cover which helped as the temperature climbed to 28 C.

We stopped for lunch at The Bird in Hand, Saltford on the way back, which was most welcoming... 👍

It’s been absolutely roasting out here Micheal. It’s been really challenging to be honest. Obviously you take the too hot rather than too cold option so I don’t want to whinge too much! But yeah, very tough…

But I here at least the south of England is suffering with the heat too at the moment. How’s the rest of the UK fairing?

I hate to admit it - but yes I fell
No photos though as I was up like a startled gazelle- lesson no 1 - do not unclip one foot then lean the other way

I feel like I owe the entire group an apology for this one. I did try to get my phone out as quickly as possible I promise but well, whippet by name whippet by nature I guess… as soon as he saw me going for my back pocket Lee was straight on his feet again! Got to give him some credit really I guess 😄

I was planning an epic tour for today (6 hills in Surrey/Kent/Sussex) but when I saw the forecast last night I postponed it.
Might possibly do it tomorrow. We'll see

Not to be pedantic. But I did actually brake my toe. And I raced 3 days later.

Not sure Carl’s small dink even justifies the afternoon of work by the sounds of it!

Currently in Marrakech ... foot and calf not great ... leg closest to camera - twice the size of other leg. And rock hard. Heat over here not doing me a favour. Icing a few times a day just to keep it under control. Doce wasn't sure if grade 2 or 3 tear ... frickin hurts, can't walk a week later.

I did indeed ... and a lift in a buggy through Gatwick airport. Didn't ask for it, was in normal security Q when chappy came over and ushered me through.

Been treated really well over here too, very respectful that I can't walk much ... although my guide did suggest yesterday we use his moped to get around. 10 minutes later a car plows into us and knocks us flying. Thankfully I saw it happening in slow motion and I was jumping out the way as the car hit us.

Frickin crazy over here on the roads. saw 4 other accidents today. Bike riders and mopeds all over the place .... suit @bobinski perfectly, he could fall off like a local

Mosh pit at a concert in Bristol last Friday Maybe at 52 I need to stand at the back these days and not join the youth at the front

Been wearing compression sock to help with swelling, but that's kicked off a heat rash ... and I have a lovely cankle
