Start slow and controlled, then build up to a sprint finish
What about that "surge and recover" you're always on about?

This reminds me of my IRL ride last week with Uttoxeter CC. One of the guys there is one of the local GPs whom I know from the running club, though we haven't run together for at least five years.Well the old groin hurt a bit but not as bad as before. Getting pain in my right clem though so taking the doctors offer of an ultrasound.
He had a good feel of them and said no issues but I'm not so sure. Better to be safe than sorry???
So a good runner, a good cyclist and does vasectomies? Sounds like that man is always on the ballThis reminds me of my IRL ride last week with Uttoxeter CC. One of the guys there is one of the local GPs whom I know from the running club, though we haven't run together for at least five years.
In fact, attired as we were in Lycra and with helmets and shades, we didn't recognise one another until I glanced down and saw a name decal on his frame (he's a handy duathlete and does many international competitions). As we greeted one another, he made a comment that recognition is largely about context - he was surprised to see me on a bike because his normal association is that I wear a running vest. I remarked that the last time our paths had crossed was probably when he was performing my vasectomy - another situation where he wasn't paying too much attention to my face!![]()

You can get received pain in a bollock from an inguinal hernia. Well that’s what I have. Tends to be more on off but my god is it painful the first minute or so of cycling 😬
That's what I'm worried about, some kind of hernia. Hopefully I'll get the ultrasound and get to the bottom of it!
IRL 10 mile time trial tomorrow. Proper real-world FTP testI'd better go and polish my helmet...
