That looks horrible next week.

I reckon for me it will be a case of 'all in' to the top of the climb on lap 1 in an attempt to bagsie as many prime points as possible, then just hang on and try to finish as high up the pack as I can.

I expect a lot of the heavier riders will have the same plan too though!
Yeah with intermediate points for first across the line AND fastest segment time for the KOM climb I think the first ascent is going to be crazy fast! But even if you're not going for the intermediate points on the first ascent you wouldn't want to let a group of any size get too far away as there's no guarantee you'll catch them again before the next climb, and then your finish line points are scuppered too.

I think a full gas effort on the first climb is pretty much essential. Grab some intermdiate points if at all possible, then hold on as best you can for the next two climbs and see where you end up. Looking forward to it already :surrender:

Hi everyone  ,

little bit late to the season but here I am. Hope the fire baptism doesn’t get too hot for me we’ll see. You will recognize me on zwift as the rider behind Girafitti’s wheel. You could say i’m his second shadow.
I’m new to the more competitive side of zwift racing but so far i’m really liking the rides i’ve done on zwift. Looking forward to riding with you guys  ! Thanks for the opportunity

Well done to everyone in #23, #68, and CCC last night. And to @Del C who’s WTRL team seem to be going from strength to strength.
Thanks Nick.

Wanderers were awesome last night. I was back on DS duties and well out of their way, which was clearly good for all of us!

Haven't watched any of the videos from last night, so I don't know what tactics you followed, but here's how we went.

We had a really strong top 3, and then 3 other riders. I picked the rider I thought could stay with the front 3 to try and make sure we got 4 over the top of the KoM together. That meant we agreed to sacrifice 2 before we got to the KoM. The team signed up to that plan. We agreed to try and get all 6 up the first climb, as we thought that having a full team on the 'flat' section between the first climb and the KoM would give us our best chance of launching our last 4 up the KoM as fresh as they could be.

We actually lost one rider on the first climb. He was only just off the back, but the gap went from 2s to 3s then 4s and we had to call it and push on. The other 5 got to the base of the KoM, and then rider 5 blew and said he couldn't go on.

So far, so good. Then we just had to get rider 4 over the KoM. He's not a bad rider, but as he said afterwards, dragging 80kg+ over that wasn't a lot of fun! Broke the KoM into 5 steps, and the guys did a really good job of pulling together and towing rider 4 to the summit. We sent our heaviest rider over first, super tucked as much as possible (don't tell the UCI) and then drilled it for home. Well, the team did. I just sat on the edge of my office chair saying encouraging DS type things.

We tied for first place, but lost it as their first rider crossed one second ahead of ours.

We haven't managed to get our full strength team out since the first week. If we'd had it out last night, I think we'd have won. On the other hand, 2 of our riders ended the night as B Cat nearly A on Zwiftpower, so it's probably a good job they had to tow rider 4 up, or else I might be looking for two replacements right now!

Good times for all you guys last night. Good points for #23 from a good finishing position. A couple more of those and you'll pull away from the relegation places.

Morning guys, someone on the forum was asking about the Whoop I wear which basically monitors your strain, sleep recovery etc.
I thought I would give some feedback about the Whoop and last nights race which was hard for me personally trying to hang on to the ccc team team whilst being in a freezing garage breathing in lots of cold air.
This morning the whoop showed my hrv to be very low which is not good, my recovery data very low which again is not good and my respiratory rate high (not good).:heat:
So basically the whoop is telling me I’m f*#k**d and I need to take it easy today and get some good sleep later for recovery.
I’m now thinking is this data good to know or not when it’s that crap because mentally it’s not making me feel very good before I head out to work!
Anybody else suffering today after last nights race?

I sometimes feel really bad and chesty after big efforts in a cold garage. I must say that since I started using SIS Rego after races I am feeling better. I'm not too chesty today either.

Anyone looking for the Uber Pretzel route badge? ZwiftInsider have an even planned to tackle it with double draft and aero/feather/van powerups and special guests (Nathan Guerra of Zwift Community Live who will be streaming it, Simon Schofield of Zwiftcast, Eric Schlange of Zwiftinsider, and a couple of Zwift staffers):

https://zwiftinsider.com/badge-hunters-uber-pretzel/

The route is pretty brutal - 110KM of riding, and then the Alpe

The event is 2PM on Saturday 20th, and will take somewhere in the region of five hours!

Any takers?

Kind of tempted- but I'm not really sure why...
