So the only thing to take away / clarify from this is that there are NO points available on the reverse climb of Libby Hill. The only climb that counts is 23rd Street - the first one on each lap.

So the big change this season is that even if you're in a small group off the back (e.g 60th place or something) it is still worth sprinting at the finish :okay:
Looks like its also better where possible to sprint for the line, if you have someone to possibly beat too, every point counts I'm guessing.

Yep, extra points down to 83rd I think.

Did the "Team Grouping" points disappear? I hope so - I thought the other changes were all positive but that one went into the "too complex" bucket for me.

Welcome @CMaguire - hopefullyI will get the chance to ride with you in Team #23 soon :welcome:

Good luck tonight to all who are riding the ZRL. I've got a vets appointment after work but hopefully I'll be able to be back in time to catch the racing. Does anyone know if I can enter in the team car so I can follow and how I go about that?

Which sprints are for the fastest sprint? All of them?
Only the Monument Avenue sprint awards points for fastest time (and the points are only awarded once; you can set your time on either lap).

First across the line sprint points are awarded as usual at both the Broad Street and Monument Avenue sprints, but given you've got to be in the front group to have any chance of getting those, having the climbs at the start of the race means that's unlikely to happen.

Sorry Steve, is Monument the 1st or 2nd Sprint?

Thanks Peter, looks like I missed the sign on cut off, can't join the pen..
Didn’t realise there was a sign in cut off???

On the reverse route, Monument is the 2nd sprint. It's just before the hairpin bend at the top of the map.

So, if I'm reading this right there are points for that sprint for 1st past the line, and also for fastest time .... so, in theory you could pootle to that point and blast a fast time and get points even if you're last on the road?

I know it's unlikely to get a fastest time if riding solo, but if you're in a large 2nd or 3rd group you could still contest this sprint to get a fastest time.

Interesting.

Interesting.

Definitely adds something doesnt it? Especially on a course where a few climbers could break clear of everyone and a larger group of higher power and higher weight riders could be bunched up and could well be moving faster.

Not generally a fan of fastest time over first past the post but I think it could be interesting so fair play to wtrl for experimenting

I like the way they have tweaked the scoring so that everyone in the race has something to fight for. Too often, once the break has gone, it's easy to sit up as there is nothing more to fight for. This is a good attempt to keep it interesting for everyone, but I guess we'll see how that works out later :okay:
