I'd guess 70 maybe a range of 60-80 (haven't used anything with a cadence monitor in ages)

I think you defo need a cadence gizmo of some sort bud. It’s one of the easiest metrics to analyse and use to make gains with. Especially on the turbo.

I think you might be onto to something g regarding your cadence and erg. I have a feeling it’s much easier to hit and control the power number at a higher cadence. Having said that, intentionally raising your cadence takes a conscience effort. It’s a bit like trying to change any long term habit. It takes a bit of concerted effort.

Yeah I actually noticed I still have the magnets on my wheel when I was changing the tyre so must try and figure out if I still have the rest of it or get another one. Could definitely be a bit more focused on training

GPLama rides all his lab tests on the small ring and mid cassette on the back. The only thing he controls is cadence.

My experience is with erg is it is easier to control,, and more consistent if done on the small ring. It still hurts, but you will find hitting the numbers at a mid to high cadence (85-105) more achievable.

I rarely, if ever, change gear in an erg mode training session. I try to keep the cadence >90 to stress the legs less. When I fall below that it really hurts the legs.

It’s not just GPL. I think TR, SF etc all recommend small ring, mid cassette to make it easier to stay on top of power and more easily vary cadence to do so.

The Zwift Race Director Charlie Issendorf has posted on FB asking for feedback on the WTRL ZRL. I think his Inbox is going to get flooded! Worth us putting in our individual thoughts - and maybe Paul putting in a consolidated one from the CycleChat crew?

Is this just good PR aimed at taking the heat out of the premier league playoff situation?

id agree a consolidated email would be good though as long as we can agree that it’s points for the top 30 only! 😀

in all seriousness my top 2 asks...
Points for top 60 in the scratch races
More scratch races and a less TTTs (maybe 6 scratch, 4 TTT) - I wouldn’t want to lose too many TTT as I think the team element of the league has been the best but and the TTT brings that out more.

FWIW I think it should run 3 weeks on one week off. Racing without a break for a longish season favours larger teams who can swap riders in and out depending on needs of a particular race and riders levels of fatigue.

I've managed to acquire a Chromebook from work. Not good for much except web browsing, but thinking of using it during races for Zwiftpower Live.

I know there were issues with live data when Zwift took over Zwiftpower, but I just checked a couple of races that are happening right now and the live data is available. Did anyone use it during the recent ZRL series? That is where I would really like to use it - just wondering if live data was available during the recent series? Part of me thinks it might not have been to save resources??

Maybe one scratch race that is @ 90 mins long .
Not sure if they could arrange it but a relay over a short course could be fun .

Where you racing this evening @bridgy? 😇
Ha! Yes I was looking for a race and saw you were in one so joined you. Rookie error - got caught out behind a slowing rider who caused a split. It was really early so if I'd reacted quickly I think I could have sprinted back on but I thought I'd be clever and sit on some wheels to bridge back up but that didn't work - and then it was too late! Well done - you finished 3 minutes up the road from me! That was partly because the group of 5 I eneded up in really didn't want to work - I was pretty much the only one willing to put any effort at all on the front. But I had 8 laps to plan my sprint finish and I won that at least ^_^
