So after a phone call earlier with
@Ketty it prompted me to try some Thomas The Baker mince pies that he raves about. So today I have been mainly eating mince pies. And to help you all this Christmas I have written full and comprehensive reviews on the three I have sampled today:
Lidl deluxe mince pie - 7/10 (pastry not too good, falls apart)
Thomas mince pie - 8/10 better pastry, nice and crunchy but mince is a bit tangy
Bettys mince pie (I think they do 2, these are the ones with a swirly top) 10/10 - PERFECTION, chewy topping and smooth tasting mince meat. A delight to eat. I'm washing it down with their festive tea, a truly fantastic combination.
The Co Op puff pastry mince pies are very nice too but I have not eaten one today. They are probably about 8/10. And Tesco Iced mince pies (like Mr Kiplin) - they are 9/10 - I could eat boxes of them. Lovely.
