Anyone racing tomorrow nights Team IRL race and wanting to qualify for the prizes should make sure you’ve got Team IRL as your primary team. Theres a random prize draw tomorrow for a Muc off bundle, a Joov muscle rub bundle, and a bag of overpriced coffee.

The Main competition is GC time based with prizes in each cat of €100, a cycling kit and €50 for 1st, 2nd, 3rd. And sprint and KOM points win kits also in each cat. Rules are that the same person cannot win more than one of the main prizes.

Nice to have you back Legs and sorry to hear you’ve not been well. You haven’t missed much in the way of CC races. The main news is that we have 2 B Cat teams in the Zwift race league and if you can get yourself downgraded then you’re welcome to join in. The other big new is @Spartak got himself back into C and @Ketty hammered us B’s last night in a spin round next weeks race course. Man on form!
I think it may have been more Ketty in 5th gear while the B’s were in 2nd......you guys keeping it coiled up until next Tuesday night then :boxing:

I'm really looking forward to the ZRL but if there's circa 180 riders in each race its going to be DAMN hard to finish in the first 29, or the first 5 at the KOMs or intermediates, which are the only ways to score more than the 1 point you get for just finishing. Which is a shame because once you're in a position where you think it's going to be impossible to be in that top 29, you have no reason to keep on pushing really.

One of the things I liked with the 3rSundowner series I've just done was the fact that it was all about GC times so whatever happened in the race there was an incentive and reason to keep going as hard as you could till the end.
Yea. Realistically my goal is just to finish the stage and get the one point for the team. As a lower C rider, I'm not going to be able to compete with the B level racers. I'll be fun regardless of placement.

Took part in the WTRL TTT last night 2 laps of Sand & Sequoias our club 'race director' put me in the Frappe group after my strong showing in the Latte group two weeks ago.
Team of six, 5 very good B riders..... and me !!!
Well I managed to hang on for 25 kms until the body could take no more and told them to push on without me, I continued to the end and finished in a time of 70 minutes, whilst my teammates did in 65 minutes.

I finished faster than both our Latte teams which further goes to show I'm between rankings..... Too slow to compete in B, but too strong for C...!!!

Sounds like you’re going great guns, @Ketty 🙂

In terms of downgrades on ZP, not sure if it’s possible to accelerate? But I will sit out this series and join the next if I’m in B at that point. Don’t think I will though - weight in ZP is 64KG but tipped the scales at 62KG this morning so tbh I think I will probs be back at A numbers soonish despite power dropping!

well done- it does also show the benefit of riding with stronger faster riders who drag you along quicker for your effort and whilst your effort improves too.

Thanks @bobinski ... I knew it was gonna be tough when the call came over Discord at the start "let's go for 30 seconds at 450W and see how we're doing"...

This bodes very well for team 68, great effort

I didn't know scales went down that low?

Good to have you back legs!

Welcome back legs, good to hear from you bud 👍. It’s best 3 results in last 90 days isn’t it? So it’ll depend when you put in your best 3 times I guess.
Thanks 🙂

Best three in 90 days are avg 4.3 - 4.7 - 4.1

To be honest, by the time the 4.7avg up ventop has expired I could be back at 4.x avg anyway so perhaps won’t be downgraded, or only for a short time. I’d prefer to be competitive in B than slogging myself at the back of A but won’t hold myself back to do it.

For now the mass start events are good - I can just race what’s on the road and forget about cats 🙂
