Are we going to be put into random groups of teams for the first two races or is it going to be a huge number all together?

Regardless, i'm going to try and hang as near the front as i can to at least the foot of the first climb then drift back. Never raced anywhere like this long but I know it won't suit me!
Im guessing but I think it will be random groups of 20 teams in each group...
For Season 1, each League will consist of at least 4 divisions. If there are sufficient Teams registering for any particular division, additional Divisions may be introduced to accomodate.
i.e. If 40 teams register for the EMEA B Divisions, WTRL will create 2 B Divisions B1 & B2 each containing 20 teams. In this case a teams division will be determined by its perfomance in the first 2 races (1 scratch and 1 TTT). It is expected that EACH division will have its own race so a Division B1 team will not race with B2 teams from Week 3 onwards.
so after week 2, the top 20 teams will be moved to div B1

We already have, and I ll break it softly @<Tommy> . you don't need to join the recce on Wednesday!

in all seriousness, I thought the teams were sorted.

Maybe to get some sort of routine/system in place does everyone have access to a google account???
if i make a google form everyone can tick if they are available that week, then the team selection can be done from there?

Something like this .... https://forms.gle/5EtWFUqqJg9EK1tP8

i can then put this out on a Wednesday, give everyone until the weekend to decide and fill out then team selection can be made?

Thoughts??

It wouldn’t be a Cyclechat event without some type of poll or spreadsheet involved! 👍

I’ve done a couple of the long Zwift Fondos but they were not eyeballs out like I’m expecting the ZRL to be , def need a gel or two , or maybe a bag of jelly babies 😀. Caffeine would help but I tend to avoid it after lunch , anyone manage to take caffeine gels and still sleep ok after 7 pm races .

I have some caffeine gels but I’d have to be completely knackered to consider taking one. I don’t drink coffee, so the combination of the gel and the adrenaline after the race means the missus gets her own private showing of river dance on crack from the other side of the bed.

I like to take an isotonic drink when I ride. Or I’ll drink a dioralite afterwards maybe. You can get isotonic tabs with caffeine. And they have a relatively small amount of caffeine compared to a cup of coffee so they’re an alternative maybe. I use them sometimes on trips away but like you I’m wary of taking one after noon.

A friend of mine’s a long time body builder and they’re always coming up with different combinations of things, either side of the line. He often took pro plus in combination with other bits and pieces and says he found it very effective. But again, probably not conducive to a good nights sleep if you take it too late in the evening.

I always have an espresso about 40 min before a TTT During my warm up. And a banana. The only time I think the espresso kept me awake was when I failed to drink most of my 950ml bottle of water and electrolite. I tried a caffeine gel and it’s not for me at that time. its something about the mix of caffeine and fast sugar carbs that doesn’t work for me. Hard enough winding down after a full on race without adding the gel.

LOL I lived on Pro Plus as a student. Wouldn't have got my 2 degrees or got through my accountancy exams without it  Maybe not the healthiest way to cram for exams but was very popular in my day

I've tried the Caffeine bullet sweets ... used these for Tour of Cam last year and they seemed to work well.

I had a bottle of roija wine and some cheese and Bakewell tarts after a week of decoration of our house. :heat:

We've repainted🎨 nearly all the rooms, sorted all those little cracks.

House looks brand new again- feel like we dont want to sell it now.:blush:
Ha ha, isn't that always the case  We've been there in the past - good luck on the sale mate. Houses by us are selling really fast at the moment so keeping fingers crossed :okay:

I don’t think the caffeine bit is needed. For this ride I’d guess we are looking at around a race time of 1h15 /1h25. I’d just go for a drink with a zero Electrolyte tab and some added sugar (cheap and cheerful) - 3 tablespoons to a 750ml bidon. Maybe a spare bottle of plain water given the distance.

Chaps. The weather is awful here tomorrow so I’m gonna organise a meet up to do the Mega Pretzel and tick off the course badge. Let me know if you’d like to join. I’ll also be inviting the team IRL group. Aiming for a pace around 2.5-3.0wkg and have a virtual coffee stop midway.
