Mondays race. One for the climbers. Haven't seen primes yet but hoping there is some sprinting before the road goes uphill. Otherwise happy to try and attack the group early on for the craic as I'll be taking it easy uphill

This one will be a horrible finish. Not one for me. Would a CycleChat breakaway attempt have any hope of getting away? I’ll give you a lead out for the sprint if we can coordinate what we’re doing. Get you as many points as Possible.

I’m going to save the legs for the 3R sundowner series starting Tuesday so I’ll give it full beans for the sprint lead out then gonna sit up for the rest

I could be up for an early breakaway if the field stays small (I doubt it will though, there always seems to be late joiners, but maybe the move back from the French courses will mean less riders). Otherwise happy to just see how things go and I'll be in zone 2 up the climb

I can relate to the feeling of not wanting to race
I’m back to the office is for about the last 4 weeks - the commute is on average 30 mins drive each way. I definitely feel more tired these days - deserving of at least an extra points credit on the 0-10 scale of excuses. For a year or so I had a 90min drive each way - it was the worst year I ever had for cycling - really lost any motivation that year and my job is a desk jockey job too so no excuse for being tired after a days ‘work’.

Al I don’t know what kind of charity you think we’re running here... but if working in an office and having a 30 minute drive home each day earned you an extra point on the excuse scale, some of Bob and Del’s crappy excuses would actually look valid by comparison !

Now come back and try again when you’ve got a proper job 👍😄

Quite a few signed up to C already, including a few Bs and a junior with B numbers but classed as C (need to drop him before the climb  ).As for the Bs signed up, I'm assuming @IrishAl will switch () and Dereck Hegarty, but the other 2 Bs were the ones who destroyed the C pack in Paris last week so I'm betting they stay in the race. The one chap, Advacaat, seemed to be working for another C (Berkovits) to help him win. I think the best I can do is try to stick with them and hope they don't spoil the race too much.

Thankfully I think positions 1-3 are already set so at least these sandbaggers can't spoil the league now.

Make sure to repeatedly shame them at the start line! (Or maybe Alan will do the same for you:laugh:)

Tried that last week but seems some people either don't read the comments or don't care.

Al is riding in D now

Re: Hegarty, I know he's not enjoying it in B having destroyed us in C early on ... he uses ZPower (dumb trainer with speed sensor) which I guess isn't as effective when you move up the cats? He killed us on any lumps previously, so I guess ZPower matches the same speed on hills as flats?

That advacaat fella actually won and was dq'd from his last cat b race as his w/kg was well into A numbers so we don't want him either

yeah I signed up in C just as a laugh but I guess it doesn’t set a very good example does it and worse maybe encourages more sandbaggers in. I’d say Derek also signed up for the laugh too and he will move up. Edit. He has already been shamed out of C like me 😄

Young Coleman is back in the B race tonight so he will almost certainly take the league as long as he finishes.

I don't think so. I believe ZP infers the power produced from the Turbo Power curve. His turbo won't differentiate between flat and hilly as it is not controllable - so it will just be a power calculation based on his wheel speed.

Yes, just looked him up on ZP .... he's an A for sure. But he's helping his mate win C. I wonder if Richie can DQ his mate too for getting direct help from an A rider

I knew you and Derek were only winding each other up and would move, but the other 2 stayed in C last week even after being called out in the pens for 5 mins before the start. C does seem to be the place that the 'baggers go for their 'glory'
