Mondays race. One for the climbers. Haven't seen primes yet but hoping there is some sprinting before the road goes uphill. Otherwise happy to try and attack the group early on for the craic as I'll be taking it easy uphill
there is a sprint at about the 1/2 way mark

Points are 20 for the sprint and 30 for the finish/KoM. You could take the sprint and roll the rest of the race and easily come top 10 :okay:

Full points breakdown ...

The Mall Sprint Forward
20-16-12-10-8-6-5-4-3-2

Treble points:
Keith hill Finish
30-24-18-15-12-9-5-4-3-2

1 point for all finishers

Happy days. Think I will enjoy doing a less intermediate sprint focused race series after this one but will definitely target that sprint. That's the one where you have a hairpin turn and it's all out sprint from there really isn't it?

Hope you get on the c podium, seems very tight at the top there!

I'm guaranteed 3rd as guys behind me can't get enough points in the last race to overtake me even if I didn't ride. I could maybe get 2nd, but very very unlikely to get 1st. I think I'll need to win both the sprint and the KoM to take top spot as both Brian and Peter will do well in the sprint and Peter should score well in the KoM. I'll go for it, but 3rd is what I'm expecting unless I somehow have a blinder!

It says forward sprint ... I assumed that was from Trafalger Sqr .... if this is correct then I'll have to go early and hard and hope I can hold on. Brian is a better sprinter than me, and he knows he only needs this and if he scores well he won't need to do much on the KoM so he can give his all. Peter just needs to mark me out the race!

Edit: looking at your link that shows the sprint coming from Constitution Hill, so a rising sprint .... might be slightly advantageous to me as it will slow down the fatties a smidge :wahhey:

Hopefully I'll have Tim (@Ketty ) as company else the IRL buys will swamp me :surrender:

@Joffey might be a good c race to try, and be a bit of extra support for Carl? You must have the d cat sewn up? The climb at the end will be painful but the rest is fairly flat

@JuhaL
I noticed the last few days on Strava you're flying. Did you put an e bike on the turbo?

No Randy, wish it was felt that way. Last few sessions i just decided to try to ride faster and push myself near to my limits. Todays ride on Zwift went pretty well especially thinking that i was at a work in a morning, it was little bit suffering as well but that was anticipating.

Ah I think it's a different one to what I was expecting, doesn't suit me as much but hopefully if I'm in the mix it'll essentially be my finish line

Juhal why don’t you race with us on zwift bud? You don’t like to race?

I am not gonna say that is out of a question but my work take quite a lot of my energy so i feel that racing is a risk for me to have over training symptoms. When i feel well enough rested and recovered maybe i will try some races to see how it feels and what is done to me.

Fair enough mate I can relate to that a little. I find that if I’ve had tough days I notice the drop off in the races because it’s easy to see if you’re not finding the power you expect. In fact when I was just working from home earlier in the year it was the best 3 weeks I’ve ever had on zwift performance wise by a long way. And then in work the next day maybe your legs aren’t so happy with you. But they normally forgive you a day or so later 😄.

I’m back to the office is for about the last 4 weeks - the commute is on average 30 mins drive each way. I definitely feel more tired these days - deserving of at least an extra points credit on the 0-10 scale of excuses. For a year or so I had a 90min drive each way - it was the worst year I ever had for cycling - really lost any motivation that year and my job is a desk jockey job too so no excuse for being tired after a days ‘work’.
