I like Zwiftpower but one fault is that as I moved during the season from cat C - cat B, the league is showing me as having 1 point in each category rather than my combined total..... I'm not gonna worry too much though as I don't think my 2 points will put me into a podium position... 🤣

Is everyone up for the team time trial next Tuesday or a week off in order? I’m easy either way

Just thinking it’s better to ask early because I guess Al and me will have to pick teams if it’s a goer.

edit: it’s a team handicap race not a time trial. Just though I’d clarify for those who have had enough time trial for a while! :B)

Tuesday's aren't very good for me so unless it's tanking it down outside I'd be a no

Dad’s funeral next Tuesday morning.

Don’t know how I’ll feel. Might be a good thing, maybe not?

Probably best to say no rather than risk letting others down in a team event.

Yes, that happens - I rode the first Irish race in B so I have 1 point in B and the rest in C from races 2 and 3. :okay:

Edit: should say, the league takes your best 6 times out of the 9 races so it should work out fine in the end

@IrishAl is there any update on the Team IRL League events? Will there be more than the orginial 6 planned...?
Still planning for 9 events but we are holding out picking routes for later events In the hope that the France routes become available. Out and back this monday (double points on the volcano KOM 😫) followed by a TT which I think is a flat route. Then hopefully 2 or 3 france routes if Zwift play ball.

Personally I’d like a week off to give myself a good talking too as results In cchat events lately have been dismal. I’m more and more thinking the weekly or twice weekly short Zwift races haven’t been good for me.

Belfast is odd in that it has horrific cycling infrastructure (some recent improvements) but you're so close to pure open countryside with rolling hills
I only just realised we are more or less neighbours when you posted a strava ride recently on the Lagan towpath. For some reason I thought you were an expat living in north of England 😃

I moved to County Down 2 years ago for work in Belfast. I’d agree that Belfast is a horrible place for cyclists. Last Sunday I cycled into the city for a solo street art tour. Roads were nice and quiet. Heres some pics...😁

Getting mixed signals here guys... think another poll might be in order!

I’m more than happy to have a break too. Better to look forward to these things rather than feeling like a it’s a chore.
I know what you mean Al. I know I won last week but I’m feeling quite fatigued racing too. Feels like I’m just bluffing it a bit at the mo. And I’ve not done half as many races as you have lately. I think a lot of it for me is cycling on the turbo this time of year. It’s hot and pretty sapping isn’t it! Normally I’d be outside and not be thinking of the turbo but obviously it’s been a strange old year so far for all of us.
I’ve been thinking the last couple of weeks I’d try and cut down to one race a week max, try and do at least one long outside ride. And the rest recovery stuff.

Shall we just ask the question again this time next week and see how everyone’s feeling?

Del if you fancy a spin next week Tuesday I’d happily just stick in a few miles with you If you want the distraction. If it’s not mentioned again all the best for next week with your dad mate.

That frame is a BH “carbon concept”. Bought it from a fella second hand for a decent price over 10yrs ago. He told me it was only 6 months old at the time, and was only selling as he had lost Interest in biking. Then in 2016 I was getting ready for a race and a chap comes over asking about the bike as it is quite a rare brand here. I told him the story of where I’d picked it up and he tells me he recognised it and that the previous owner has done thousands of miles on it all over Europe 😃. Just glad he didn’t tell me it was stolen.
I brought it back to life in 2017 after I’d cracked one of the seat stays. Did a DIY carbon fibre repair and then got it resprated the Ford Focus ST orange a local car body repair shop.

Yeah I think it’s been a long Zwift season, last year I packed in the subscription in May after the Giro launch and didn’t return until October. Most of my Zwift races have been short sharp sprint efforts and then sitting in whereas I used to do more outdoor TTs or longer races. Like you I think one race a week will be plenty and then knuckle down to something more structured in autumn with the odd race thrown in.

Happy to pencil in a Team TT for 2 weeks time. I’ll be lookino forward to a place in the B group 😅

Hey I’ve seen that view! I really liked the towpath and the waterfront ride to the ferry. Belfast seemed to me to be a great place.
