Any predictions? Looking at the start list I'm going to stick my neck out that Legs takes it, with Milzy as an outsider to be first past the line based on their starting positions and the course profile.
You'll probably overtake me before we even reach the climb!Stick a tenner on me being last ..... should be a good bet
I am surprised you haven’t said it’s mine to lose !! - every time you say that , I lose it ☹
gonna be a good one tonight , never do well in tt but looking forward to it
i'd have my money on you* - strong on the flatter sections and a good climber. For a course like this a good combination. Hard to bet against Brendan and Del too as they get the little head start which might be enough to see them over the hill before the stronger riders/Legs to get his maiden victory could be a good shout. Although with whippet winning so many races already it’s very hard for me to bet against him either! So I think I’ll just play it safe and say that is my prediction for the top two spots. I’d put Irish close to that too so that would round off my top 3. Bridgy already put in a really strong time I think, but maybe because he did it on his own rather than chasing and racing others, that’ll work against him.
Pacing is key tonight - can't see me catching anyone before the hill starts. I'll be saving myself for the climb where it matters the most, so, should Del or Brendan misjudge their tactics and try to catch me too early I'll pounce on them as the road goes skywards **You'll probably overtake me before we even reach the climb!
Put it this way, I'm aiming for 54 minutes as my target time - my current best is 56:30, which was done in a semi-competitive group ride at about 2.2 w/kg. I am a little bit faster than that now (should be able to hold 2.3-2.4 over a whole hour), but also 4kg heavier, which is going to kill me on the climb. So given you're going to be released only two and a half to three minutes behind me, that means all you have to do is come in under 51:30 to finish not-last. Easy!
No pressure Lee, but if you're not ahead going over the top then the fatties will catch you on the way down - you're gonna need a good 2 minutes lead as you crest the hillI am surprised you haven’t said it’s mine to lose !! - every time you say that , I lose it ☹

I was going to try and record it too .... unless I forget too like I did Monday when I rode to glorious victory. But, as they say, no photo (video) it didn't happenPS. I am going to record this race for posterity (and possibly YouTube), and when anyone passes me, if their avatar does not wave, I'm going to suggest it's a ten minute time penalty!
Oh I know that feeling... The only DBR race that I won, was the one I didn't record and I'm still annoyed with myself about it over a month later!I was going to try and record it too .... unless I forget too like I did Monday when I rode to glorious victory. But, as they say, no photo (video) it didn't happen

59 miles in. Top of Ditchling Beacon.
I think I lost out on a PB through 2 slow cyclists holding up cars in front of me.
I childishly sprinted past them at the top of the Beacon as a small dose of revenge!
