I think zwift are pretty good at marketing. If this was them trying to focus and improve racing you’d think they would be publicising it. To me it just smells like politics. But I hope I’m wrong. Like you say, maybe by winter racing has improved with zwift taking the bull by the horns. It is weird they don’t embrace racing more isn’t it?

I suppose prior to Covid they might not have seen Zwift racing as generating much revenue over and above people using Zwift normally. After all, you sign up to Zwift then discover racing, not the other way round.

Since lockdown Zwift might have realised that by not concentrating on racing they are missing out on more revenue, especially with these lockdown (TdF Virtual) races being beamed all over the world. Is this move an indication that post vTdF they will be putting their efforts into the racing side so come winter we have a lot more features to enhance racing.

It would be fantastic if we could have clubs, strict cats, club races, club TTs, club handicaps etc - all possible if Zwift put some time into it.

I'm ever the optimist and try to see the good first, so I'm hoping ZP going under Zwift's wing is a positive. I'm often left disappointed though, so we'll see

I'm hoping that now all the data is held by Zwift, and on 'one' server (well, one AWS virtual server by the looks of it) that the next obvious step is for Zwift to automatically connect all Zwift users to ZP and for ZP (probably rebranded) to be the repository for ride data going forward. This would then remove the need for Zwift/Companion App results and all results are in ZP only.

Taking this to the natural next step, users wouldn't need to link their Strava account to ZP as all data is in Zwift, and sandbagging can be controlled via ZP as per now, thus removing the 'glory' that the sandbaggers get from winning as they would no longer be winning

That's what I'd be looking to do if I was in Zwift's shoes .... we'll see.

Ah great memories from that climb! Hey lee, you remember that restaurant we stopped at about half way up? Best 6 course meal I’ve ever had I reckon. Thought the service was a little slow though.... Nice segment time by the way Bob
