Well done tonight chaps. Another race safely navigated! And bloody strong from bridgy too!

I’ve put a rough list together for Wednesday. It’s not the end of the world if we don’t know for sure who’s coming because I can adjust it on the line. But could you guys confirm if you think you’re going to make it or definitely not going to, by quoting this post or tagging me with your answer. Cheers!

Sorry ketty I just re read your post. No worries if you want to set your own time. Just remember to change to a tt bike.
No probs if folks set a time If they can’t make it On weds - but I think the event will be more fun the more that can make it.

can I suggest we close the solo entries at 1830 on Weds so we can use the Strava CChat turbo club leaderboard to get the times and draw the event to a close - nothing worse than people (like me) going out and having multiple efforts to set a new best time 🙉

On the Zwiftpower story, I’m not too sure where to stand because we don’t know enough of the detail.

There are always two sides to a story and the community are closer to the previous management so it’s unsurprising to see a swell of support for them.

I can’t help but think that Zwift are at least trying to do the best thing for the racing community and wider platform here. Now ZP is part of the Zwift infrastructure rather than “independent” but completely dependent on Zwift the community has seen a proper commitment from Zwift.

If Zwift didn’t want ZP to exist they could have cut it off at any point. This feels like a commitment to racing by Zwift to me.

I do share some concerns about pace of development and bug fixes now, especially considering that the core ZP team has not been bought into the fold. But again, we don’t know the full details of that - for all we know Zwift might well have made them a good offer to join the team and they declined...

Ive not read that much around it. My gut tells me it’s more to consolidate power rather than to improve the racing. I hope I’m wrong.

It’s interesting that Zwift have always avoided contact let alone engagement with the race “community ” and also the wider zwift community other than through supporting zwiftcast, zwift insider and then zwift power. These are by no means mouth pieces for zwift ( and I mean that) but i have found it strange so much of what we hear and find out is filtered through these mechanisms. It’s great advertising and suggestive of engagement without real engagement. Given the significance of the latest development why is what amounts to a press release filtered through ZI? Why not an email to all users? I am not comfortable with it. Lots are though.
I am not a serious racer but if I was I would have doubts this change will benefit the racing community. ZP was an amazing effort , a labour of love really by a few committed individuals always on hand to answer questions or sort problems. That’s not people’s experience of zwift. The fact ZP has 200,000 signed up gives an idea of the behemoth zwift has become. Perhaps they are going to bring in all the things users have been asking for and taking back ZP is part of that process and perhaps even inevitable. We shall see.

Strava query for you:

On the mobile App, I can see all leaderboards including "I'm following" and the CC Club for segments on any outdoor rides, but not for segments on virtual Zwift rides. For segments on Zwift rides the other leaderboards are there, but not "I'm Following" or the club leaderboards. No problem with seeing them on desktop site though. (I am a premium member).

Wierd - is this the same for everyone?

I think zwift are pretty good at marketing. If this was them trying to focus and improve racing you’d think they would be publicising it. To me it just smells like politics. But I hope I’m wrong. Like you say, maybe by winter racing has improved with zwift taking the bull by the horns. It is weird they don’t embrace racing more isn’t it?
