I'll probably join team irl for the ride (I assume the more people who join the better chance of getting more racing slots etc so good way to support it).

But still racing with you guys. I'll have to figure out this primary team business

my 3R league race on tuesday was gotham grind, its not so flat very rolling, @mjd1988 you should start this league in B i would say

i av 3.2 for 4 laps of this course so would say you would be more than that so this will prob be the race that bumps you up, so no point wasting a race in the league.

I'm kind of torn, if I race b I'm pretty sure I'll become a b on zwiftpower if all goes to plan.

On the other hand I am still a c, so this might be my last chance for glory! Although then what if I end up putting out lower numbers, might end up not pushing numbersup and if I keep doing that then I'll be a sandbagger.

What you don’t want is a few races in c then get bumped up and loose all your points.it will be hard but your ready and I d say do at start of league rather than half way

This league is already halfway through though so don't think the league points are as important. I'll have a think. But if I do this as a c race then it will *definitely* be my last.

Kind of don't want my last race to be on the jungle circuit. Stupid as that sounds!

Edit; that does sound stupid. I'll join b's!

Michael I’m not sure that’s what I call sandbagging mate. By definition of being at the top end of the W/kg boundary for c you are on the boarder between c and b. If you race in c maybe you don’t go over that boundary because the group you sit in don’t go over the limit. I guess if you ease off the power intentionally to not go over the threshold maybe that’s a little sandbaggy. But just because you are top of c doesn’t mean you should go to b cat or be considered a sandbags by definition.

Having said that I’m going to say you are going to get even stronger over time. So it’s probably only natural to move up a category some point soon for your own benefit though rather than because of interwebz judgement.

Hi guys

Just wanted you all to know I read your posts in my PM box. Thanks for the info and suggestions :-)
Im not in here every day, so I'm sorry if I missed some posts addressed to me.

I'm have a lot of training to do before I can start cycling outside. Tried a hand bike "home trainer" and had to stop after 700 meters :-(
The first goal is 20 km. Hope to do that in 4 months time.

Keep us up to date Lars.

We'll be looking forward to seeing you back on the bike, indoors and outdoors!

You'll have to let us know if you have to have one of those poles with a little red flag on top when you put the hand-cycle on your turbo!

This looks like the sort of question I normally answer!

If you go to the Team Ireland page on Zwiftpower you can request to join the team by clicking on the green button in the top right hand corner of the page.

When your request is accepted, if you click on Team at the top of your Profile page, and then click on My Teams at the top right hand side of the Team page, you should see that you're a member of Cyclechat and Team Ireland. I think you'll still see Cyclechat as your Primary team, with a red button next to Team Ireland saying 'Make Team IRL my primary team'.

At this point, you have to choose! Your primary team can be either Cyclechat or Team IRL. You can flip between them if you want, but that doesn't really make sense.

I joined WTRL so that I could race a little more regularly, so I made them my Primary Team. When we raced as Cyclechat in DBR on Mondays, each week when I signed up for the DBR stage I had to go into the Signup page on my profile, click on the DBR stage and then I have the option of racing for my default/primary team WTRL, or selecting Cyclechat instead, which is obviously what I did.

So, you can race for 2 teams. You just have to select your non-primary team on a per race basis. For some reason Zwiftpower won't let you set your team on a series/league basis.

I'm joining B mostly as it's an aspirational cat for me  For me it's a case of start at the bottom again and see how far I can drag myself up!

Pretty decent first attempt 700 metres ! Given your determination, that 20km goal will hopefully come around quickly :okay: All the best mate.

Looks like a good crew for the b team including @Whorty so I'm going to join the B's.

I don't intentionally lower my power but I do tend to surge and relax as much as possible during a race- if I can get away with drafting 0.8w/kg lower than the person in front of me I will do it, or if I can supertuck without losing a group I will do it as I feel if I can keep soemthing in the tank I'll have a decent sprint, so I probably artificially lower my overall power.
