I didn't get to race (or ride at all) yesterday - so tonight I'm doing the following race. It is on Queen's Highway which I don't think I've raced before.

It is 13 laps, 25.9 miles and 565m of climbing, so will be quite challenging. This will be my first Zwift race with the British Masters mob. They are joining this race but don'r run it. It looks as though Eric Schlange (aka Zwiftinsider) is racing as well - in the B Cat so could be interesting.

Anyone coming to play?

I've just done a 10 mile TT on that course this lunchtime. Like you, I had not done the course before. It's a short loop, half of it or so uphill and the rest flat/downhill. A course that should suit you Martin I'd have thought.

I'm still short of my best but improving - 10th of 24 B's on ZP :okay:

Cheers - we'll see, may be a bit punchy for me. Glad you are on the way back. Come join us for the last DBR Wahoo race on Monday :okay:

Hmmm, thanks - interesting. I just read the article and it also says "Interesting side note: Zwift retooled the Zwift Mountain bike with their latest release, reducing its performance in game."

I assume that is since this article? I'll check I do have the Scott Spark and go with that I think. I also do not plan to start with a road bike and change unless anyone can see that it makes a big difference.
I just bought the Scott Spark after reading that!

I used to have it like you did after the challenge ride, but it had gone. It's back now and I think I'll ride it from the start on Monday.

So are we being sneaky by turning up on road bikes then swapping in the last minute to MTB.

I might do a test to compare Tron V MTB over the start road section, I'll ride a constant power

You are 5 min faster than me up the Alpe on zwift. Been sandbagging in C for far too long 😉
That can't be right, unless you don't go up very often. I think my PB I was 76kg and average 250 watts. This was on the NEO when I was training for ToC last year - I was doing a lot of miles, but also a lot of climbing on BRVR so I was used to grinding away on those long climbs. I did also move into B cat at that time, but have slipped back in C since then

would someone on a road bike towing the MTB to the dirt help??

I dont mind doing that if it is helpful- might depend on what other people are on -if the other challengers are on mtbs then it's a bit pointless as I would just tow them too

I think it's worth trying that...most people will probably be on mtbs anyway I would imagine but who knows?

My plan tomorrow or Staurday is to set up a workout that keeps me at an average of 200 watts for 20 mins. On run 1, I'll start the Jungle loop on the MTB and see how far I get in that 20 mins. On run 2, I'll start on the Tron but change to the MTB after the boardwalk section as the road goes up. I'll compare how far I get over the 20 mins at 200 watts.

Now, this won't account for drafting etc but may give us a clue if there is any benefit to the bike swap.

Thanks. After reading your note, I checked my garage and the Scott was no longer there. Now, just bought it in Drop Shop. I'm changing to the Tron Bike for tonight's race on Queen's Highway and then to the Scott on Monday.
