So we approached the last climb up the high street as 2 groups of 2 and when we turned on to the high street climb the other guy I was now riding with tried to jump and gap me. He got a gap but he'd gone too early. I dug in and reeled him back in and then passed and had an unusual feeling of joy as I sprinted hard and slowly pulled away and managed to hold him off by 1 second.

Checked the results and found it was Steen's mate Torben who I'd been sprinting against without realising it, so I suppose we were having a Cyclechat drag race up the finishing straight even though probably neither of us knew it!

I spoke to Torben today and asked him what happened yesterday. As I expected, it was his trainer acting up again. That is why we saw him trying to jump the group multiple times. Every time he came back shortly after, because he stopped pedaling, as he didn't want to "win" unfairly.

He has contacted Garmin/Tacx and received instructions on how to test and/or correct the 2000w spike error. He has to install Tacx Desktop App or Tacx Training App, do some test rides and then send the TCX-files to them. Wonder how he will accomplish that on the Apple TV.

Unfortunately for me , my trainer started making some pretty disturbing noises half way up so I had to nurse it through the rest of the race
Sent Elite an email last night explaining problem with a video of the sound , they got back in touch this morning giving instuctions to disassemble the pulley shaft , key way and lock nut and then reassemble with thread lock after cleaning . Got this done , wait 24 hours for the threadlock to set and reassemble . I’m a bit doubtful that this will solve the problem but I can’t see any other problems with it , flywheel bearing seems fine , so fingers crossed now .

Next week might be a good chance to round up a posse. Looking forward to this one

Interesting route - lots of lumps big enough to cause splits. I need to beat Fagerli by a few spots as still 14 points behind him and stay within one spot of Larsen to hold off his chase. Depending how legs are I might try an attack somewhere and see if I can break the group up ^_^ Or ... I might just wheel suck like normal

According to zwiftpower you've raced him 7 times...and beat him 6 times.

I reckon you'll beat him whichever way, we can play it by ear on discord. I can see Just being the main contender again this time around

It's getting that 14 points back that is the challenge. I fancy beating him, but I need to put a few riders between me and him.

As for Larsen, same thing really. He needs to put a few places between me and him. He climbs better than me so if the final stage really is loops of the jungle then he'll beat me easily; again though, I'll just need to stay as close to him, in terms of positions, as possible. If he and the other DBR guys actually worked as a team they could beat me easily, but thankfully they don't do that

Be great if I could get a top 3 placing ... be even better if you and I could get top 2 places ^_^

Still wondering when people said that indoor riding is harder than outdoor riding, so i’ve been heard. Today was a good example that on outdoor i need to use more power to move forward than indoors . Sure i can understand headwind, roughness of pavement etc...

You did 40 miles at 185 watt average in two hours..I’d say that’s a lot of power and very fast. But you couldn’t just get off and walk to the refrigerator like indoors. Still my idea on an outdoor ride is stop at every coffee shop and bakery.

Usually i stop every now and then to stretch and eat some gels, bananas what ever i have. Need to adjust bit of my saddle fore aft position, saddle seems to be too much forward. I noticed that i have too much pressure to my hands.

my personal opinion is that the turbo is harderwhen you push harder, heat and no let up in pedalling but when you get outside and factor in wind resistance , pot holes etc , junctions , traffic , gravel and the all important balance and steering outdoor will be harder to maintain the same power . very rare that i pedal down a steep hill like on turbo , imagine what that does to average power
on the turbo you can tank down a hill at 50mph and take a 90 degree corner without breaking - it will end in tears if you try that in the real world

I was going to say something similar. I push much harder on the turbo as I know if I blow up I can just get off and have a shower, whereas outside I still have to get my sorry ass back home! I'm also usually either racing or doing a workout on the turbo, so intentionally pushing hard, but outside I'm usually just out for a spin and to bimble through the countryside.

There are hard times outside, the odd hill or riding into a headwind. :okay:
