Yesterday I managed a second place which really cheered me up! However, I don't really understand how I could've exceeded the criteria for D but not been upgraded or dq'd? I'm a little new to using zwiftpower!

https://www.zwiftpower.com/events.php?zid=759091 if it helps.
Thomas, had a quick look and if you click the tab that shows your 95% of 20min power it shows Infinite W/kg and looking on the forum this is caused by "Heart rate and weight are private / user didn't click checkbox on registration" maybe go into your settings and try to change these.

Because you didn't exceed the criteria.

The limit for D is an FTP of 2.49 w/kg. For the purposes of Zwift and Zwiftpower, FTP is calculated at .95 x 20 minute power.

You had a 20 minute power of 2.6w/kg so an FTP of .95 x 2.6 = 2.47 w/kg.

Thanks both for your answers. I guess that because the race was only 22minutes, you can go slightly harder and not be penalised.

It feels odd that the zwiftpower categories don't match those from zwift for the race too.

All this talk between us is brilliant ! Just like the good old days 👍
Bring it on 😈

😄

I think I enjoy the banter at least as much as the races

I am a bit surprised Del and bob have been so quiet though. You’d of thought when two of the biggest excuse makers got together in the same team it would be the biggest collaboration since John Lennon met Paul McCartney! Can only assume they’re building up for a big one

Are you assuming Bob will finish the ride tonight? I have a fiver on him bailing after 20 minutes

Ok.

I may repost the slightly revised rules later so that it doesn't get lost in pages of banter, but here's my proposal based on this morning's discussion:

Times as follows for the teams:

D @ 19:00
C @ 19:03
B @ 19:06
A @ 19:09

We'll race from the Meet Up spawn point rather than the first time we pass under that start/finish arch (about 0.4 to 0.5 kms down the road). The race finishes when we pass under under the start/finish arch the second time.

Every team finishes their race when their 3rd fastest rider crosses the line. Hopefully, it will be clear on the screen what the finishing order is, but if there is any dispute, we''ll use this Strava segment to decide the finishing order, based on the time of the 3rd fastest rider for each team

https://www.strava.com/segments/12118421?filter=overall

Note that the segment start and finishes at the arch, so there is a slight discrepancy here, but its the best I can do!

If a team is about to be overtaken, they must yield and not try to tag on to the overtaking team. The overtaken team have to allow the overtaking team to pass and get enough of a gap so that they can't be drafted. Once that is done, the overtaken team can push on again.

This rule applies until the final sprint point about 2kms from the finishing line. From there, no yielding is required and both teams may ride head to head.

All agreed?

What about @steverob's suggestion as a compromise.

Team being overtaken has to yield and let the overtaking team pass.

From the last sprint marker, which I think is between 2 and 2.5 kms from the end, then no need to yield and both teams can race head to head?

ok, i just wanted to catch the A team draft when they catch us with 5km to go...
