Lee a cycling buddy who weighs about your weight and is mad as you did it in around 10-11 hours. He averaged 1hr9 consistently for 6 climbs then boom. He admits his pacing was slightly ambitious for the early climbs, but he recovered with a rest and food, went on to do 9 ascents.

So I put a small spreadsheet together to capture the replies to a potential Hare and Hounds race that @bridgy suggested earlier. I was going to attach the file for people to update. I could do that still but thought it might get a bit messy, so I've just attached a copy below.

So far, I think we've got 10 interested. I've added Carl as a maybe as I'm sure he'll take part if he can, so this way we keep the option open for him.

If everyone else can let me know if you're a Yes, No or Maybe then we can finalise numbers and sort out teams.

If I've missed anyone out, please let me know.

It looks like it could work. Hopefully some other guys haven’t seen this yet either. I’m sure @peterob will get on board overtime when hopefully his back has improved. @CXRAndy will get on board if he can pull himself away from cream teas and visits to local stately homes! And maybe @Brusgaard will get on board if we call it the Danish handicap league or something similar 😄. @Alongo has been putting in a lot of work lately I see. What do you say bud? @bobinski? I know it’s short notice mate... do you have any handicap race related excuses lined up or will you need more time? I’m sure there’s other people I’ve left out but I don’t want to waste too many insults in one post

I think it’ll actually be fairly straight forward picking teams. Because we can all say who is relatively close to us at the present time. And then juggle it a bit over time? But maybe that’s better left to Del who seems to have a good handle on it all. And @BurningLegs I think your poll was a good idea. It seems most people are already booked in Tuesday and Thursday with league races and the ttt. So it might be a bit of a tough one crowbarring it in.

all part of his master plan - knacker us up in these sharp shock ones then want a long race up a mountain - we are just pawns
how did you get on ?? aint it a good feeling to cross the line on these !
wish i could hold the group for a bit longer but got dropped just over the half way mark , but hanging on a little more each time

Don't know yet.

A couple of people have suggested Thursday, although that clashes with the TTT for some people. But If that works best, I'm happy to miss the TTT for a week to give this a go.

I suppose we really need one of those online vote things that @IrishAl put up last time. I'll see if I can find it

I was a bit below par today. Lost the front group after 3.5 laps I think. Small group of 5 till the end. came 22nd on the road and 11th on ZP - but my metrics were all a bit lower than recent. Still, a good workout.

Not an ideal circuit for you - well done for bashing it

had wobbly legs but managed to get a ftp increase what aint too bad as weight is still going down a bit - will soon be able to get in shed without opening door

My ankle isn’t great to be honest. I think I’ll manage to avoid amputation but a day or so off can’t hurt.😄. I was peddling along thinking ‘this is a bit daft really’... so I just pulled up.

I've put together a Survey Monkey questionnaire to sort out the best day and time for a Hare and Hounds race. It's similar to what @IrishAl did last year, although probably not as good! I'm a newbie with Survey Monkey

I've included all weekdays as Questions 1 to 5 (yes or no) and time of day as question 6 (18.00, 19.00 UK or other). Can you answer and we'll see what comes out best. You can say yes to more than one day!
