Amazing ride by all, I’ve no idea on the power side so don’t know how to reduce it to not get DSQ. Sorry guys, some team performance tonight. Roll on next weekJust about to come on here and congratulate @Ketty on a great performance - a superbly paced race and brilliant climbing - and ZwiftPower's (admittedly provisional) results are showing him as WKG DQ'd! I'm really surprised, because he wasn't in the lead group that was doing 3+ w/kg for the first 20 minutes, so therefore I'd have thought he would be under the limit. I did manage to make that group and thought I might be cutting it fine, but I have come in under the limit somehow.
Other than that, a superb performance from the D crew. Yes we didn't knock out our DBR nemesis J.B, but @Joffey beat him in the first sprint and he didn't make the lead group that I was in, so I took 1st in the second sprint (pretty much uncontested)! At present myself, Joffey and @JLaw have 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the overall standings as well.
Going to check if my video recorded successfully - if so, I'll put it on YouTube fairly soon.
Team!I waited up for you then I noticed another rider coming a cross so I put my foot down. Thanks for the help on the flats, I needed it today!
Great ride Steve, good teamworkNo, he finished about halfway between JB and me.
He caught me at the top of Libby Hill on the first lap and we rode together for the next climb, but I struggled on the final climb and he continued to pull away even after we got to the flats. However, I then hopped on the back of a duo of fast Spaniards as they passed me approaching the next sprint and with their draft I was able to reel him back in. He then joined us for the next half lap to make a pack of four, but we all split up as soon as the climb started. I lost sight of him, but watching at the board on the right, he did an outstanding effort on the last two climbs as he reeled in at least one more rider and closed the gap to JB to about 30-40 seconds I think.
Yes, I got the sprints! It's been uploaded now, but it's still "processing". Basically I could give you the link now, but it's as blurry as **** until the processing is finished, so I'm going to wait until that's done before showing it off. After finishing I did manage to find you in the rider list, so I've got you crossing the line as well, but missed JLaw somehow.
Having now had a chance to watch back some of the video, I think when you got dropped by the front group on the downhill, I think you'd have been better off soft pedalling and letting the group behind you (with Joffey and JLaw in) catch you. Because that was still in the first 20 mins, which is where the highest power is normally done, keeping the pace as high as you did meant it pushed you over the limit.Amazing ride by all, I’ve no idea on the power side so don’t know how to reduce it to not get DSQ. Thanks for that, will use that next week 👍🏼Having now had a chance to watch back some of the video, I think when you got dropped by the front group on the downhill, I think you'd have been better off soft pedalling and letting the group behind you (with Joffey and JLaw in) catch you. Take it easy when you're in no-man's land between two groups, then surf the wheels of the second group when they catch you. Then you can accelerate again when you reach the climbs and you'd have still ended up in the same place in the race, but having expended less power overall. Or at least that's the theory!
What trainer are you using that shows the gear change in the top left corner ? Cheers
Wattbike Atom.
Sorry to hear about that @Norry1 @Alongo
I got dropped out of the front group after 6KM but came in 41st on the road. Love the little climb to finish on that course. Was skulking at the back of my group of approx 6 at the foot of it and pounced half way up. Caught all but one so quite happy with my finish.
Bike working nicely with the new crankset on and I’ve gone from a CX chain set to compact road. I think it’s helped my “sprint” - had to sprint back into a group at one stage and was pleasantly surprised at my jump!
Yes well done Nick. Your step up to B has gone really well and another good result for you last night.Looks like you rode really well Nick. You got your best 1m and 5m w/kg according to ZP.
My ride hasn't synched to Strava and isn't shown on the results so I don't even get a point for finishing. Actually I would have got about 11 points because I finished ahead of the last guy on ZP (Luis Funez). The ride file is however on my Zwift Activities, so I've copied it to Strava but not sure how (and if it is worth it) I get reinstated in the race results.
Only consolation is I got my PBs up the Libby Hill and 23rd St KOMs.
