I can only think his best 20 minutes must have been achieved during the climbs, because he stayed with the main pack in the flats on the first lap, whereas I crossed the gap post-first sprint and got myself in the lead group with all the sandbaggers / out of Cat riders.
Yes, I did notice that JB didn't follow me when I made that jump - otherwise I'm pretty sure he'd have gone over as well! The good news is that
@Joffey and me have proved he is beatable in a flat sprint - it's not easy, but it can be done. Bring on the next week's flat course!
EDIT: my mistake - I've just watched back my footage (video uploading to YouTube now, will be there in 15 minutes) and
@Ketty WAS in the lead group with me at the second sprint. So yes, it is very possible he pushed the limits to stay with that group.
