I think the only way, with closed races, is to join the pen as if racing but then click on another rider. Then, when the race starts you're tracking that rider. I've always struggled to watch closed races ... so if there is another way, I'd be really interested too

I have often thought, if you take it really seriously, it would help to have a non-rider scanning Zwiftpower LIVE so they could advise on gaps and who is likely to be disqualified etc.

so i join the race as normal, I get that bit, at what point do/can you switch to viewing other riders??
edit, correct me if I'm wrong please I presume once everyone has left the pen just click on riders?

Sign up to join the race as a competitor as per normal.
I assume you are using a PC?
Before the race starts press 'windows' key and 'G' together. This will launch the record features in Windows. Then press Record to start.
To watch other riders click on their name on the right side list.
You as a Racer will just sit on the start line. You can jump from rider to rider to watch who you like. Don't press return to me else all you will record is yourself sat on the start line.
Soon as the race starts click on a rider high up the table, then just look out for Cyclechat riders to click on their names

I think you can do it in the pen. Click on Michael then when we go you'll be watching him and see any of those of us who hang on early - you can then just flick between riders after that. Not sure what happens if you go back to yourself though

I've just checked on a recording made on Saturday. As soon as the race starts - the names board pops up on the right - it isn't there as you warm up - so you should be able to latch onto someone straight away. Then just hop up and down the leaderboard as you wish. But as others have said - maybe best not go back to you - as who knows what will happen
