Forgive me father (Tommy) for I have sinned it’s been 3 weeks since my last confession.
I did a short race yesterday and took it easy which has got me back into my correct D category as advised by the Cyclechat team.
I seek your forgiveness in these turbulent times. 😉

I’m not sure why I deserve derision for saying I don’t forget when someone cheats. But hey ho... carry on...

My daughter cheated at snap yesterday. I just can never forget. Maybe she will become a Dr one day, but I'll always know that she's a wrong en! 😡

I think people flying off the front on group rides is fine- doesn't effect most people's ride and for the most part there will be a much bigger peloton and everyone gets the work out they want. What annoys me on a group ride is if the leader takes off way over the advertised w/kg

yep, my first q on a group ride is to ask the leader how much they weigh, especially on a flat route. 2w/k at 85k is very different to 70 kilo’s. That way I can reply saying what the watts will be. Cheeky but fair

I remember when I first set Zwift up and they'd race off the front on low wkg group rides. Quite frustrating but these days things are a lot better.

I did the 9.45 Crit City Race today and I think raced the hardest I have ever done - certainly for quite some time anyhow.

My plan (along the lines that @<Tommy> noted in my last race) was to start even harder than usual and average c360W for the first minute and then give it nearly everything up the first Prime - then try and recover and see where I was up to.

This worked fairly well (best minute power was 376W) and I was able to stay with the front group until the start of the 5th lap when a group of 8 of us lost the leaders. Then there was a bit of a recovery as this group didn't push as hard - until the start of the 7th lap when a large group caught us. I put enough power down to jump into the passing group and stayed in it until the end. I didn't have much of a sprint left, but then neither did anyone else by the look of it

I came 42nd of 185 B starters and I think got my best time up the Prime and also for the lap and an 8 lap race.

Vid is here if anyone is interested - apologies for the swearing

Milzy I don’t want to get into a mudslinging contest with you. I don’t have anything to gain. I feel like I’ve been attacked for saying I can’t forget when people cheat or do something out of order. If I’m in the minority of one and others are happy then so be it.

If you don’t call your daughter up on cheating she will never learn different and will grow up thinking cheating is ok. If you do call her up maybe she will learn better. But you know that as a good dad I’m sure. In your case it seems you won’t learn so there we are. Good luck

Carl, isn’t sandbagging when you drop into a lower cat and smash it up ruining it for everyone by riding to the cat limit knowing you can ride beyond that cat limit. That’s my understanding and borne out by a quick look elsewhere. So a B riding in C. ( not an “almost B” 😀) It’s cheating.
Weight doping is also cheating irrespective of whether they stay within cat limits or not coz it affects a race outcome.
I think it’s all fairly straightforward.
i understood it, sandbagging is when a higher cat rider (as categorised by ZP) is racing in a lower cat race.

So long as the rider is pushing cat limits, is in the correct cat based on their ZP profile and everyone has a chance to compete, is all fine by me. Others may feel different, but I'm fine with that.

If someone I'm never going to meet, know nothing about, changes their weight and this puts them pushing the same w/kg as the cat race they're in, then again, makes no difference to me. I get others may not be happy about that, but I've thought about it over the years and I don't care. Life is far too short to care about what others do :okay:

as for weight and w/kg thing i am currently on blood thinners after an episode and i used to struggle to gain weight anyway but now i can't . i am losing weight and not a lot i can do about it ,

Hey @berty bassett If you don't mind sharing, what was the episode? I'm asking cos I had a TIA in 2006 which led to me going onto various drugs and I wonder what impact they have on my (cycling) performance. Please don't answer if you don't want to.
