Funnily enough I’ve suddenly gone off crit racing 😄 . Seriously though I think I’ll do a longer race with whippet tomorrow if he actually pulls his finger out and picks one! Welcome to join us of course.

Cheers but my longer race will be on Monday. Not that it is over-long.

Planning to beat my PR up Box Hill on the 1st ascent and try not to die in the 2nd :smile:

I race like that sometimes if my aim is to try and hang on to the front group (I did just that in the Danish races) - I was blowing up after 20 mins, sometimes less, then having to recover before trying to hang on to chasing groups as they catch me. I think it was you that said this is what I should do to get stronger, as the more I do it the longer I'll be able to hold on and the better I'll get ^_^

This is completely my race strategy as well 😂

Actually knowing the course profile has made it easier to know when to sit at the back of the group and have a breather though, rather than randomly entering the nearest race. That probably helps lower the 20min average (and I love supertucking past people just to annoy them)

Zwift says my 20 min power is 274w so let's see how A's go. Chris Pritchard is now saying he's a B. Guy who can do 300m sprints at 1200 watts. 🤔

I did my first ever online group ride last night - an online HIIT session with Jasmijn Muller on RGT. I spotted that all the other participants had female names and it was only reading around afterwards that I found that she's setting herself up as a female-specific coach, which would have been a bit embarrassing in the real world but online - meh. Anyway it was quite a tough session.

Cheers for this; have many people checked it out? My brother in law is in lockdown with us so might sign him up and have a nosy.

Edit; had a quick spin and didn't do much for me to be honest on a very short effort
