Looks like ZP is struggling with the volume of riders on Zwift

Little blast on the Whole Lotta Lava route was nice. Came in 7th on the road I think, but there were a few B's there so might be higher once the ZP results are updated. I worked with one chap quite a bit; I was feeling generous today (and didn't want to go over into B cat accidentally before Tuesday) so I gave him the sprint ^_^
Officially on ZP I came 3rd - although I dragged the guy who came 2nd around, and messaged him that he could have the win - he gave up at one point and I waited for him so know I could have taken him. Chap who won the race has been upgraded to B. Had I pushed a bit harder I think I would have been pushed to B too, but was conscious that I didn't want to get the promotion before tomorrow night's league race.

What was interesting about this race, compared to the Tuesday league, is the pace was much easier from the start so I had a lot left for both the volcano KoM (I set a PB, 248 watts for 9 mins) and even after cresting I had enough left to keep pushing down (another PB) and to the finish. I was easily in the lead group yesterday until we reached the KoM and didn't feel like I was getting anywhere near red; on the Tuesday race I'm in the red almost from the off :banghead:

After this league I think it will only be a matter of weeks before I'm back into B proper :training:

@Whorty - I know it’s each to their own and all that but I really struggle to see why you still race in c ! I know you are helping c at the moment but you could be helping b and getting better at the same time , can’t see the point of entering a race that you can win with relative ease just to deprive the win to someone trying their hardest
Just doesn’t seem sporting to me but just my opinion and I know we all have different ways of looking at it
I never came close to winning a c race but because of weight I got bumped up so have no chance of ever winning but it’s a bloody good work out what is why I personally do it for
Join b and get a sweat on ! 😁

I reckon you need to average 254W over 20 minutes to get the promotion - as ZP will average your best 3 results.

I agree. When i watch Movistar documentary there was a good tip how to ride when it start to hurt, close your eyes . Anyway always give your best when you compete if you like to show how good you are...that day.

I joined the first B race in the Danish league ... I was dropped in the first 300 metres. It wasn't a race for me, it was at best an ITT. Even In C group, in the Danish league, I'm nowhere near winning and that's with me going full throttle and going into the red before I pop. I've not made the finish with the lead group in any Danish C race yet.

The smaller races though on Zwift are a different kettle of fish. Less monster racers so I do have a chance. I race in C because I am still a C - I've not managed yet to break the ceiling in to B cat although, now I am very close again I am planning to join a few more B races. I actually think it's the Danish C cat races though that has helped me to hold that higher power for longer so I'm hopeful I won't get dropped by everyone in a B race going forward ... but we'll see.

I wanted to stay as long as possible in C for this series as, although I'm not winning races, I am adding points to the team. I get more pleasure from being in a team rather than an individual and as Zwift is about pleasure and fitness, this works for me.

I def need to push on with this and I'll be doing more B races after this series is over and see if I can get my w/kg higher :okay:

Yes, you're right ... a single ride of 250 watts will be over the limit but to get my average over I need to either do that 3 times or, as you say, do a 254 watts in one ride (which I'm nowhere near at the moment  )

I wouldn't be so sure. Few recovery rides and let your body/legs rest for a bit, i wouldn't be surprised if you would reach that watt sooner than you think.
