1st time 1:13 @ 346 watts
2nd time 1:18 @ 318 watts
3rd time 1:14 @ 344 watts

Ouchy ^_^
Interesting comparison for me. My times were:

1st time 1:15 @ 335 watts - lost 2 seconds (but a PB)
2nd time 1:23 @ 299 watts - lost 5 seconds
3rd time 1:20 @ 308 watts - lost 6 seconds

Each time I had to chase back on the descent and over the two small lumps and by the time we were at the sprint arch we were back together in the same group.

Not sure if I should push harder on the climb or save it for the descent!

So I did the Four Horsemen today and boy did I under estimate how long it would take! My bad preparation I knew it featured the volcano at the start and l’Alpe but didn’t realise the epic KOM / Radio tower was thrown in at the middle. I took a coffee stop halfway at the foot of the Alpe and in all honestly I didn’t think my heart was in finishing the route but I got back on and climbed the Alpe and took the free 12km descent. A total of 3-1/2hrs pedalling time

One positive I managed 30 minutes straight on the TT bars which I’ve just exchanged whereas the previous set up I was blowing after only a couple of minutes. This new set feels great.

I have TT bars on my Zwift/commute bike, but rarely use them while Zwifting. Long endurance rides on the turbo is tough on the sitbones and the TT position provides a welcome change in position. But for some reason the TT position in Zwift vs real life feels like day and night

In the real world the TT position is my preferred position. Actually, I think I put out a bit more power in this position, which is why a mediocre rider like me think I have any chance at all at qualifying at the ToC TT.

Used the Kleiner Hugel segment on Strava.

I assumed that's what Carl used as well, but I didn't check. It was the only segment I could see that covered the climb.

I have a pb of 1.18 but most efforts way outside that. Have they posted where the sprints are? Might target that then ease off as I don't think I will stay in touch, especially by lap 2

1:26 147 bpm 294w PB
1:27 150 bpm 289w
1:29 148 bpm 291w

Must try harder as my school reports used to say😀

Interesting you think that, as I was thinking the exact opposite during the race; I was cresting the hill in lead (well, usually on the wheel of S Banks) but as there were only 2 of us we couldn't pull away so as you say, by the time we reached the sprint banner we were back in the group.

I may have had a slight benefit I guess as I got a little bit more rest on the descent and flat whereas you was chasing on. I think I'll do it the same on Tuesday only because if I don't I'll fear I'll miss any breaks, and the micro rest was welcome.
