The first leg snapper took me ,I then joined a group of D and C cat riders and the D’s where putting out 4wkg I had all on staying in the draft ,last time around and I lost the group over the top of the leg snapper I had just run out of steam, I don’t suppose moving 2 tons of logs just before I started to ride helped .

Well done Carl and Del you both had very good rides

I came 8th on ZP with a time of 41:23

Looked like you had a good start but then slipped back a little.

I had the app set to show Zwifters I follow nearby and you reappeared near the end of the 2nd lap so I thought you'd got back on.

As you said, its unlikely moving 2 tons of logs was the best prep for the race!

Considering your gout problem that was a great ride!

I came in 5th on Zwiftpower and we both given the same time.

I certainly know where the hurt is going to be. 3 times I had to chase the group back after the leg snapper. Got back on each time, but even though I got a PB on the climb each time i was 1 to 2 seconds behind the leaders.

It's ridiculous. I checked the distance from Horley to Mere a moment ago. We're about 113 miles apart but somehow racing with someone you know makes it so much more enjoyable!
During the warmup I was in pain, wasn't sure I'd last long. As soon as the race started though, the foot went numb so didn't cause any trouble during the race. Once i finished though, and took the shoe off - - that stung

It does - love seeing a familiar name on screen. Really does feel like a team effort :okay:

I think I go of too fast on the starts,it always seams that I get my second wind when I have been riding about 17 minutes, my heart rate and breathing seam to settle in to a good rhythm, even if it is slow😀🚴‍♂️

If we can get results like that on Tuesdays race we will be well in the points

Just checked from Carl's ride my PB is 1.09, that's slower than Carls. I averaged 469Watts to do my PB:wacko:

Anyone interested in a meet-up tomorrow? Thinking of around 1pm GMT to Tie in with live Omloop Het Neiuwsblad...I’d like to tick off one of the longer route badges such as the Four Horsemen or Über Pretzel.

So I did the Four Horsemen today and boy did I under estimate how long it would take! My bad preparation I knew it featured the volcano at the start and l’Alpe but didn’t realise the epic KOM / Radio tower was thrown in at the middle. I took a coffee stop halfway at the foot of the Alpe and in all honestly I didn’t think my heart was in finishing the route but I got back on and climbed the Alpe and took the free 12km descent. A total of 3-1/2hrs pedalling time

One positive I managed 30 minutes straight on the TT bars which I’ve just exchanged whereas the previous set up I was blowing after only a couple of minutes. This new set feels great.

There are physiological changes that only occur after a period. These changes allow you to get more oxygen to the working muscles at a lower heart rate. This is why warmups are important if you want to put in your best efforts.
