@Freelanderuk , @Brendan Parker, @Del C I'm only 50/50 on riding today. Got a case of gout in big toe that's a smith painful (you ever used the gout excuse @bobinski ? Is this a worthy excuse @<Tommy> ? ).
I think you'll be ok if you ride with a pipe, smoking jacket and felt hat? ;)

Maybe avoid the glass of port??

Annoying thing is I haven't had a drink in over 2 weeks. I get this though every now and then and I think it's caused by dehydration so i'm filling up on water this morning and hope i flush it out of my system.

I have a delivery of logs turning up sometime today, hopefully in the next couple of hours so I can get in the log store out of the rain before I ride.

I have never had gout but my big toe is so tender and painful underneath that I have 2 pairs of socks on at the moment, think mine is chilblains as I hardly ever have socks on unless going out

GOUT!

I use big letters because its worse than childbirth

Allopurinol(sp) is the drug for long term suppression of symptoms 👍
Yep, it's not pleasant. first flare up a few years ago I thought I'd broken my toe. TBF, I had been out the night before and got smashed, and could only vaguely remember getting home, so that was a possibility  It comes back every now and then but docs think mine is related to dehydration and my body not flushing the carp from my system. Will be drinking loads today so should be fine in a day or 2.

Another preview of the legsnapper and the importance of sprinting over the top- here he loses the group despite averaging over 450 watts for the climb

Its sole destroying putting out big Watts and literally being spat out of the back on a climb like that. Hopefully just being C's the surge wont be as savage up the climbs.

Its imperative to keep the power until well into the negative numbers on the downslope to keep contact with the pack. Ive ave 400W before for over a minute, blowing a gasket and lost dozens of places to lightweight riders

So you dont take long term meds?

Ive got 3 mates who suffer too, non until recently took Allopurinol and suffered repeated flares over many years. Ive not had any issues with the drug over probably 10 yrs of use-recommend it

I had an infected cuticle few weeks ago what swell my right foot a bit and make shoe felt tight. Bit of annoying as well but not painful as gout. It's well over now and all feels normal now.

No, mine tends to flare up and I can usually flush it out in a few days. When I first had it, it lasted weeks and I had meds then as wasn't sure what caused it, but I've learnt over the years what to do. I only tend to get it in my big toes too, so not that bad all things considered.

We going to try and work as a team today? Looks like it will be a mass start so we won't be able to control the C cat and we might have to hang on to the B's, at least as far as the LegSnapper.
