Tour De Zwift finishes after the catch up week on 16th Feb. Shall we try and set up a couple of handicap rides after this, to get us through to March? I think most people enjoyed them, and we've ironed out some of the logistical issues now.

@IrishAl 's idea of piggy backing an official Zwift race but sitting on the line is a good one - the only challenge will be finding a suitable race at a suitable time on a course that we have timings for most people on. But at least we know we can make it work in a meetup if needed.

People up for this some time on week commencing 17th Feb?

Just thinking out loud but I think we will probably have to compromise a little to get it to work. But it’ll always be good fun even if the times aren’t perfect.

Maybe if we set a vague framework around distances and elevation we can apply it to any route?

I'm probably going to have another go at stage 3 some time during the catch up. This is the one where I lost internet part way through so ended up having to ride completely solo - it's also not registered as having been completed by Zwift (I had to manually retrieve and upload the .fit file, and take the time from a Strava segment) so I haven't officially completed the TDZ, and that doesn't seem quite right either!

However well I do, no one near me in the league has anything to fear from this (unfortunately )

Aaah, now i understand what GPLama meant when he said that Richmond has been revamped and why i did't noticed nothing different when i rode S6. That all is happened after S6.

After update Richmond suppose to be faster now because cobbles are now brick, so, good reason to re-ride S6 in a catch up days.

How much of the lap was cobbles? I know Libby Hill was and I think there were a few short stretches on the flat loop, but if that was it, I don't think it'll make much difference to times. Perhaps you'll save 10 seconds per lap, but then you might lose just as much or more if the draft isn't as good in the catch-up events due to less people taking part (as has been the case in previous events like this).

EDIT - just found someone saying that Libby Hill is still cobbles, it's only the cobbled sections on the flat bit that have been changed to brick, so even less benefit then.

Has it actually been confirmed that the change of surface has made it faster? I'm just asking because just because Zwift have changed the look of the surface in place doesn't necessarily mean they've changed teh code to make that section faster. Just wondering where you've seen this confirmed or whether it's just speculation - cheers

For me it’s like replaying the cup final if you’re not happy with the result, so I only ever do each stage of a league one time. But that’s just me and for you or anyone else it’s up to you. I dont begrudge anyone who has a different opinion.

In your case maybe wait until next week and you could be another 4kg lighter by then ;)
I'm spent anyway. Think I'd be happy to add weight as long as I can add power.

From ZwiftInsider

You may also notice that road surfaces have changed – what used to be cobbles in the flat portion of the route is now brick, which means it rolls faster

The biggest change is that you can ride the course reverse now, so there are 3 new routes available :okay:
